  2. Hey Guys,

Been following this blog for 4 years now.

Applied for 186 direct entry jan 21st 2018

    No correspondence till last week.

    Nomination and Visa opened

DOCUMENTS REQUESTED FOR NOMINATION : Salary Rate Explanation

VISA REQUESTS: UPDATED MEDICALS AND NEW AFP CHECKS.

Got the medicals done today, feeling optimistic but a bit scared. I've hear that when you get a request for medicals, it means you're almost in.

Anyways, fingers crossed. I was about to give up after 20 months of waiting for this last visa. 5 years of paperwork and around 55k spent.

    occupation: Graphic post press tradesperson

    Number of applicants :2

    Low risk country (Italy/Portugal)

    Hi @Totto,

I don't know where you read/heard about that, but it should not be the case. The processing priority is determined by the economic situation of the country:

"The changes to priority processing arrangements address the needs of industry by targeting skills in demand across a number of sectors, while ensuring that the Skilled Migration Programme is responsive to the current economic climate and the needs of the Australian economy.

Priority processing arrangements are subject to changes in response to Australia’s economic situation and do not change visa eligibility criteria."

Therefore, there is the need for Cooks or Software Engineers or whatever, it makes sense that they first clean the backlog then they start processing new applications. If it was true what you heard, then the backlog would grow exponentially. The Industry sector has already criticized the stricter Visa requirements. It would not tolerate longer waiting times.

You can read more about processing priority here:

    https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/corporate/information/fact-sheets/24apriority-skilled

With that said, in this Forum I've read a lot of posts such as "oh, they are processing this kind of Visa now", "they are processing the following occupations", "they are prioritizing TRT over DE". Most of this info is based on comments found on this Forum and a rapid look at the excel sheet that lists the applicants. Well, that excel sheet has ZERO relevance in the terms of statistical analysis of what the Department of Immigration (Home Affair) is doing: it's a drop in the ocean. I recall that @boo-yaa once wrote: "you would be surprised by the number of applications that are processed every month" (more or less, I can't remember :D)

It might be true that TRT comes first than DE, as well as that some occupations are prioritized depending on the economic situation/needs.  But certainly, the expiring date of your current Visa does not matter. Although I applied for 186 6 months ago, I've been in Australia for almost 4 years and my 457 Visa will expire in 2020 like yours.

Occupation: Software Engineer, 2 applicants, LR. Visa and Nomination lodged last February.

I hope you get soon your PR ?

    Wow @Jean Valjean!

Thank you so much for your reply. It's quite complete and actually lifted a weight off my shoulders. I have been waiting for 19 months now, have not received any correspondence from immi since the day we submitted all the paperwork 23 Jan 2017. Any advice? I am terrified of thinking that they will take 12 more months or even more. My whole life is on hold as my family's. My MAs keep saying that the only think left to do is wait, but I have read so many comments on this forum about people that have followed up and complained to the Department with the help of their MAs and it seems to have worked to speed up the process apparently. My MAs do not want to contact IMMI as they consider it a waste of time and unprofessional.  Any advice would be appreciated.

So I dnt think there is any truth behind tht. There are lot of people who got their pr even whn they hav other visa left for another year or more. Hope this helps u

Thanks mate, did you at any time contact the department asking why they were taking so long or had any means to communicate with them? I have tried calling, unsuccessfully and emailing just sends an automated response. Where your MAs able to follow up or put pressure on the department? Cheers, and once again, congratulations

Hi @Rvee, I'm sure you will get a positive outcome. Many of my mates have gone through the same.

Quick question, how do you know when the files is opened? I applied on the 23rd of Jan 2017 and my status is still received. I contacted the deparment via FACEBOOK, and they told me that there was no "OPEN" status, that it will stay as received till they have a response or need more information, and they said Received means it's already being processed. :(

  8. Looking for MAs and MIGRATION lawyers:

Nomination and visa submitted : 23 jan 2017

    Direct entry

    Occupation: Graphic post press trades-person

    ONSHORE - LR Country

Till today: STATUS RECEIVED, no emails or communication from the department since the day documents were submitted. 15 months and counting for the case to be opened.

MA says there's nothing that can be done but wait, no will to email or call the department on my behalf.

Have been living in OZ for 5 years, working for the same company for 5 years, currently hold a 457 visa. I believe my MAs could help me out but dunno what's happening and why do they refuse. Any MAs out there that are willing to have a chat about my case and give me some advice. Happy to change MAs. Any answers would be appreciated

  9. Quick question to any M.A. out there. I applied for 186 direct entry on Jan 2017. Still waiting, CO not assigned. Back then we had 6 people on staff and a co worker got PR. Now we have 2 people on staff as we are restructuring and we have freelancers come in pretty often. Will this affect the nomination approval when they open the file?

No surprise there. There is absolutely no point in them publishing timeframes at all. Serves no purpose and misleads already stressed minds! I have just sent an email to my Migration agent asking them to contact my allocated case office and ask them what is happening. They now have everything they asked for. I cant imagine waiting any longer. I see some people wait a day and some wait a few more months after submitting documents. It's all very confusing. You may be granted (like others have) without them asking you for any documentation. Fingers crossed for all of us.

Just emailed the department to the address my MA suggested and got this ::arghh:

    Quote

Permanent Employer Sponsored Entry (PESE) - ENS 186 and RSMS 187 Visa

    This is an automated response

No response will be provided to enquiries in relation to an application status update, processing timeframes, pre-lodgement or non-PESE related matters

    Latest update:

The phone enquiry line (02) 8861 4353 for PESE Centralised Administration Team has been disabled from 23 March 2018. Any enquiries not answered by this automated response should be directed to nsw.pse@homeaffairs.gov.au

    Processing status update:

    ENS (subclass 186)

applications lodged from June 2016 to March 2017

    RSMS (subclass 187)

applications lodged from June 2016 to March 2017

IMPORTANT: Applications are assessed on a case by case basis. Some individual circumstances may cause applications to fall outside the published processing times. As a network we seek to ensure all cases outside service standard are only undecided because they are the subject of appropriate and necessary ongoing processing . For information on global processing times, please see:  https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times

    Processing of the incomplete applications:

Permanent Employer Sponsored Entry program is managing incomplete applications to reduce processing times for complete applications. This will involve refusing applications assessed as not meeting a legislative requirement at the initial assessment stage, due to lack of required supporting evidence. Informing the Department that the application is incomplete will not necessarily result in a request for the missing information.

They have updated the average processing time:

DE: Between 8 to 13 months

    TRT:Between 8 to 11 months...

I wish these time frames were accurate... It's been 16 months for me today... :( (DE)

Are you onshore or offshore? What is your occupation? LR or HR country?

    Hi Totto.

I received my new police check today and have sent it off. I believe my medical results are with them now (awaiting confirmation), but other than that I have had no word from them. I have asked my MA for an update. Hoping to hear back soon. As soon as I do I will update on here. Any news for you?

I asked my MA to contact the department as the processing times have dropped to 13 months tops. They replied that

    "

Please note, the following message provided by the Department of Immigration’s Permanent Employer Sponsorship section:

“No response will be provided to enquiries in relation to an application status update, processing timeframes, pre-lodgement or non-PESE related matters”

If you would like to see a copy of the message, please send a blank email to nsw.pse@homeaffairs.gov.au. You will receive an automated response with information about Subclass 186 processing.

The automated response will also provide information about which applications are currently being processed. As of today, the section is processing applications lodged between June 2016 to March 2017."

So they consider it's not a good Idea to contact them yet as all the information is there. But it seems my application is in limbo and this is very stressful as the status is still "Received" On the 23rd it will be 15 months waiting

My file was only opened at 15 months, and my circumstances are quite similar to you i.e. low risk, good company etc. I'm still waiting! they asked for a new AFP and Medical, so if I were you I would apply for these now as Immigration will more than likely ask for them again. Better to have them to hand as soon as they ask, if they don't ask then you lose a few hundred dollars but time is more valuable. There are so many people in the same situation so please try not to worry too much. I do understand too how worrying it is. They cant simply refuse your application if everything is submitted and legit. I believe you will hear from them soon, be prepared, that is the best advice I can give you...Be ready with everything! Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. Take care and best of luck.

Hi ,was wondering if you have any updates? Have you received an approval yet?

    Hi,

do you know if That business has already sponsored someone in the past?

and if yes? did they receive their PR?

They did sponsor someone in 2016 and the person got PR in six months but what worries me is that now we have a smaller team, I don't know if that affects the nomination, as we are restructuring the company

They sponsored someone and PR came through in 6 months, this was way before all the crazy changes. Although I did apply before April 2017. It worries me that back then we had a bigger team than now, as we are restructuring

  19. Hi Guys, I am very concerned, I applied on the 23rd of Jan 2017 for my 186 direct entry as a Graphic Post-Press Trades-person. I currently hold a 457 that expires in 2020. My Immi account shows that processing times are lower than what is shown on the global processing times website. On the 23rd of this month it will be 15 months of waiting and my case status is still on "Received" it hasn't even been opened yet and I am very worried that it will stay there for god knows how long. This situation is nerve wrecking as you all know, and with all the changes the department has been putting through and all the future changes currently under legislation I fear this application will be refused. I have done everything correctly with the help of my MAs but the only thing they do is tell me to wait, to wait, to wait. I have spent way too much money in this and am wondering if there is something that we might have missed. LOW RISK COUNTRY, application and nomination lodged on the same date. No CO assigned, no communication whatsoever from the department. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. The company I work for is doing well but now we have fewer employees as we are restructuring the department. It's a small business but legit and no changes have been made in regards to the company officially, it's just an internal restructuring. I fear for the worst although try to stay positive.

Unfortunately the current processing time for 186 Direct Entry has increased to 10 to 15 moths. Processing times are continuing to slow down, probably due to the constant changes the Government keeps making to many visa sublcasses.

Ringing or emailing the Immigration Department will not help, as they have specifically stated that request for processing updates will not be answered. Accessing the ImmiAccount will not give you any processing update, except to show that the application has been lodged.

Take heart i the fact that you are not alone, and many people are in exactly the same situation as you. All you can do at this time is be patient.

Thanks for your reply @Raul Senise, This month the processing times stayed the same, Today I reached the 14 month mark. I know this is a bit of a silly question but, Is it still possible that the case will be opened in the next month? Or is it becoming more common for applications to be on hold for way over the stated processing times?

    Hi,

I have been waiting from 17months on my 186 direct entry visa, tried calling and sending email, but no proper response, all they say is that they are still allocating files at this stage and to have patience.

And one of my friend has been waiting for almost 2 years now.

Sorry but I had to post this....

    Stay strong and Good Luck!

Hi @Armaanz, sorry to bother you, but would you mind sharing the occupation you are applying with, are you using a MA? How many people in your application? And is the country Low or High risk?
