  2. Hey Guys, Been following this blog for 4 years now. Applied for 186 direct entry jan 21st 2018 No correspondence till last week. Nomination and Visa opened : DOCUMENTS REQUESTED FOR NOMINATION : Salary Rate Explanation VISA REQUESTS: UPDATED MEDICALS AND NEW AFP CHECKS. Got the medicals done today, feeling optimistic but a bit scared. I've hear that when you get a request for medicals, it means you're almost in. Anyways, fingers crossed. I was about to give up after 20 months of waiting for this last visa. 5 years of paperwork and around 55k spent. occupation: Graphic post press tradesperson Number of applicants :2 Low risk country (Italy/Portugal)
  3. It's nerve wrecking! Don't lose hope, My case was opened yesterday after waiting for 21 months
  4. Wow @Jean Valjean! Thank you so much for your reply. It's quite complete and actually lifted a weight off my shoulders. I have been waiting for 19 months now, have not received any correspondence from immi since the day we submitted all the paperwork 23 Jan 2017. Any advice? I am terrified of thinking that they will take 12 more months or even more. My whole life is on hold as my family's. My MAs keep saying that the only think left to do is wait, but I have read so many comments on this forum about people that have followed up and complained to the Department with the help of their MAs and it seems to have worked to speed up the process apparently. My MAs do not want to contact IMMI as they consider it a waste of time and unprofessional. Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. Thanks mate, did you at any time contact the department asking why they were taking so long or had any means to communicate with them? I have tried calling, unsuccessfully and emailing just sends an automated response. Where your MAs able to follow up or put pressure on the department? Cheers, and once again, congratulations
  6. Hello, I lodged my visa and nomination on Jan 23 2017. Been waiting now for 19 months. Yesterday I heard that when your previous visa is not about to expire you are not priority, can you confirm when was your previous visa meant to expire. I hold a 457 that won't expire till march 2020, is it possible I will have to wait till 2020 to get the first correspondence from the department? Any info would help, cheers STREAM: 186 DIRECT ENTRY Nationality: Italian (LR) and Portuguese (LR) Ielts score :8.5 main applicant and 6.5 dependant Nominated occupation : Graphic PP Trades-person ON-SHORE Application submitted for both visa and nomination : 23 Jan 2017 Number of applicants : 2 Age: 35 Main applicant / 40 dependant. 32 when applied I believe the occupation is no longer on the list. 8. Hi @Rvee, I'm sure you will get a positive outcome. Many of my mates have gone through the same. Quick question, how do you know when the files is opened? I applied on the 23rd of Jan 2017 and my status is still received. I contacted the deparment via FACEBOOK, and they told me that there was no "OPEN" status, that it will stay as received till they have a response or need more information, and they said Received means it's already being processed. :(
  9. Looking for MAs and MIGRATION lawyers: Nomination and visa submitted : 23 jan 2017 Direct entry Occupation: Graphic post press trades-person ONSHORE - LR Country Till today: STATUS RECEIVED, no emails or communication from the department since the day documents were submitted. 15 months and counting for the case to be opened. MA says there's nothing that can be done but wait, no will to email or call the department on my behalf. Have been living in OZ for 5 years, working for the same company for 5 years, currently hold a 457 visa. I believe my MAs could help me out but dunno what's happening and why do they refuse. Any MAs out there that are willing to have a chat about my case and give me some advice. Happy to change MAs. Any answers would be appreciated
  10. Quick question to any M.A. out there. I applied for 186 direct entry on Jan 2017. Still waiting, CO not assigned. Back then we had 6 people on staff and a co worker got PR. Now we have 2 people on staff as we are restructuring and we have freelancers come in pretty often. Will this affect the nomination approval when they open the file?

  12. Has anyone here called 131881 (IMMI ENQUIRY NUMBER) and has it done anything? Positive or negative? I hear that some people say it helped them and some say it doesn't. Just found this online : https://migrationalliance.com.au/immigration-daily-news/entry/2017-03-131-881-harming-the-lives-of-australian-visa-applicants-one-visa-at-a-time.html
