Congratulations. How long did you wait from getting medical done?

We went for our third lot of medicals in June this year so quite a quick grant after that!

  2. So after such a long and emotional journey starting in 2015 and lodging our application in 2019, Yesterday we finally got our visas granted, we’re going over in the summer to activate!

Just wanted to do a quick post to say anyone still waiting just hold on in there 😊

From the immitracker (take with a pinch of salt) it looks like most case workers are processing 190 applications lodged around Nov/Dec 2019 at the moment.  It's clear to see they have been processing applications more slowly since July.  190 processing does seem to come in waves though, last year they had a large backlog similar to this year and started working through them quickly from September and pretty much cleared the backlog by November.

All i would suggest is double and triple check your application to improve the odds of it sailing through once it gets some eyes.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, we are using an agent and lodged our application June 2018! We have had a few Case officer contacts so it’s definitely being worked on, we just need to re do our medicals as they have now expired, really hoping we get our grant this year

Generally speaking, I’d wait until asked at the moment.

We have been asked for them, our agent has told us to get them ASAP, this is the second time, they have already expired we have been waiting all this time for the au gov to call my ex partner to confirm that he gives consent for my eldest child to come to Australia.

    Fingers crossed.

Putting your life on hold is not very fun.

No it certainly isn’t here’s our timeline 😭

    12/10/18 - CO contact for form 80

05/04/19 - CO contact for additional info on form 1229

  6. We have the permission on the form 1229 when the application was lodged, then the  co wanted additional contact details to call him so then gave them, they haven’t been able to phone to confirm details for many reasons.

So a statutory declaration was also filled out and signed my a solicitor but this wasn’t satisfactory either as it could be an easily falsified document! Honestly it’s just an absolute nightmare.

My son is currently in an apprenticeship so I’m not sure if that’ll class him as a dependent or not but surely, circumstances will be taken into account regarding he was 15 when we lodged the application? I really hope so 😢

  7. Ok thanks, that’s good news regarding no time limit, it’s 190 for NSW, and the only thing that’s been holding us up is getting permission from my eldest sons father (long story) but he turns 18 in August so if things are progressing slower then that might work in our favour I suppose!

  8. Hi, I’ve not posted for a while just disheartened by the time everything’s taken and trying not to think about things.

So just wanted to ask a few things regarding the whole covid situation.

We are still waiting on our visa approval that was submitted on the 19th June 2018.

Do applications have an expiry from lodgement if not granted within a certain timeframe?

How are visa applications progressing at the moment?

  9. Yes it’s been really frustrating, the hold up was form 1229 permission for my eldest to emigrate, although his father had filled in all the forms they wanted to call him to check details and were unsuccessful so this dragged things on and on, back and forth.

We eventually got asked for either the form again or a statutory declaration signed by a solicitor so went with the stat declaration this time, by then our medicals and police checks had both expired so are redoing them, all again full price over £1500 for us all, and my ex had a cheek to moan about the price of the stat declaration £120 😂, would’ve cost him nothing if he’d just answered the phone!!

    anyway rant over!

hopefully it won’t be too long now, we’re hoping to make our activation trip next winter.

  10. Yes that’s definitely what’s holding it up, they had tried to contact him unsuccessfully so asked for additional details like extra phone numbers and and an email address which was all passed over in March. I’m in touch with him (well his mother) and apparently they’ve never had any contact whatsoever!

Its very frustrating as he is happy for my son who is now 17 (was 15 when we lodged) to go and doesn’t have any contact with him. He doesn’t even have legal parental responsibility in Scotland as we weren’t married when he was born in 2002.

I’m really starting to worry as we’ve waited so long, what happens when my son turns 18? I’m assuming he’ll no longer need permission but will he still be able to come on our visa??

  11. That’s so much for your reply Raul,

we are all uk passport holders, no character or medical issues.

The thing that seems to be holding us up is the form 1229, that was submitted with the application but then further additional contact details were requested this was back in March, surely they should have got back to us by now? I think it’s Australia house in London that the 1229 form was being dealt with.

  12. Can someone please reassure me that we still have a chance of receiving our grant?? I don’t seem to see anyone waiting as long as us, do any agents have any advice they can offer?

Here is our timeline and our agent has contacted the case officer by email twice since March with no reply! What do we do?

No nothing yet but its only been 3 months, I didn't front load and im glad I didn't now with whats happened to you.

Did you pass your medicals and police checks? if so surely you will get an invite, just mad seeing as how fast everything went at the start for you.

Yes passed medicals and police checks but they’ve expired now so will have to have them both redone, think the agent mentioned something about having a refresh on the medicals so it doesn’t cost as much, but not entirely sure. Just need to wait and see. It is so frustrating considering how quickly things progresses at the beginning. Any news and I’ll be sure to post and let you all know 😊

Still waiting on grant, over 13 months now 😭🤯

  15. Hi @WizardofOz2018,

Yes we are still waiting too, now on day 346 😭, I’m pretty sure our medicals and police checks have ran out now although I’m not entirely sure of the dates.

We front loaded all our docs including medicals so we weren’t asked for them so technically our fault they’ve ran out. At the time we were applying everything was moving really quickly eoi, nomination etc so our agent had suggested we front load everything, regretting that decision now!

I suppose we just have to wait again for contact from a co to ask for them again, our agent had said with the medicals you can do a sort of refresher so it doesn’t cost as much so that’s not too bad I suppose as we were over £1000 for medicals as we are a family of 5.

I’m trying to stay positive now and look at as if the co knew our medicals etc were expiring and didn’t want to give us a grant with such short entry date so has waited until they expire so we have a full year to make first entry now, maybe that’s just wishful thinking though 🤣

Fingers crosses for both of us, hopefully hear back soon xx
