I won't agree.... I have that much travel history of past 4 years that i don't have any free space in my Passport. and faced no issue.
I think it depends. If your passport is full of visits from non-high-risk countries then yes, there should not be a problem or suspicion. However, if your passport is full of multiple visits to high risk and war-torn countries, like Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Libya then I think this might create suspicion and your case could be forwarded for special security checks like the one ASIO does.

My visited list of countries:
USA max stay 1 month on a 5 years visa
UK max stay 2 months on a 5 years visa
Saudi Arabia once for umrah when i was in school
UAE about 4-5 times max stay 10 days
Morocco once for max 11 days
Thailand max 15 days
Husband’s country of visits:
USA
Canada
New Zealand
Australia ofcourse
Thailand
Saudi Arabia
UAE
Qatar
I don't think visiting these countries would be a problem. All countries look good. This should be fine with you, IA.

I asked immigration agent to ask status.
Agent said should ask only after 20 months
What? After 20 months?? Not sure, but you take other members' advise here on this. For me, 20 months is too much.

@tobeaussieIA Did you received any update from CO? Is your case straightforward? Like no previous marriage (applicant/husband), overstay visa, etc.
Note: Your DOL and DOL are almost the same, with only one day difference.

That’s what is bothering me the most that when there’s no complication in my case then what’s the reason for delay. Its been 21 months of clueless waiting, if DHA had shared the reason for delay then waiting wouldn’t have been so painful as I would know why it got delayed.
My agent said the amount of documents we provided to Immi account, nobody in their history of clients has. It was love marriage after 3 years of relationship so we provided them with proofs even from before marriage. We dont have joint bank account but ive sent them proof of land my husband transferred on my name as gift. His pictures from every visit he made to Pakistan to see me, monthly bank transfers he sent me in pocket money, monthly chat/call records.
I have been to countries only as visitor and never in my life overstayed a visa or did any criminal offence and Pakistani PCCs from 3 cities I have lived in, which I provided twice as first ones expired after a year were clear as well.
Im my husband’s first wife and he’s my first and last husband Ofcourse.
In interview call, CO asked me routine questions about date of engagement, marriage, husband’s job etc and about future plans to which i mentioned to work there as Pathologist, do PhD and have a baby. I also asked her if i can take my dog along to Australia as i love it too much when i get the grant. She replied im not sure about pets, You should consult the airline as they take pets to different countries so you should check with them for Australia.
Read somewhere that providing too much information also delays the process.
Do you (or your husband/sponsor) have a long travel history? Like many overseas visits? If yes, would you mind sharing countries you visited (just to know if they were HR countries)?
Good luck!!

Interview 1st November 2018
No documents requested

Did you email CO for a status update?

No we don’t know anything about approaching through the Minister channel. Can you please elaborate which Minister exactly and how to contact him/her?
This is what one of the registered MARA agent here in Australia told me when I was too worried about my wife's visa. However, I didn't acted upon it as I think mine was under the timeline (15-20 months)
Quoteif you do want to “escalate” this issue, the best way would be to discuss it with your local MP’s office.
On another occasion he said:
Quotemy advice would be to speak with your Federal MP’s office. They may be willing to try and escalate this to the Minister
I think you've to discuss this option with your agent. But if your agent is in Pakistan, then I don't think he will be effective in using this option. But discuss with your agent first and see whats his reaction. The best would be your husband meeting in-person with some registered agent here in Australia, to plan how to approach minister to escalate your case (Note: In this case, you've to address the issue that you've authorized Zarnab to handle your application). I think you've a solid reason to use Minister's channel as you've already crossed the published timeline.
Good luck.

This short reply from Home affairs numerous times and couple of times a bit lengthier ones as well as my immigration agent from ZARNAB emailed them on my behalf. Like the following when status update was asked from them:
Please be advised that there are a number of checking processes that may be undertaken as part of the visa approval process, including health, character and national security checks. Your client's visa application is
currently undergoing mandatory departmental checks. The visa application will be concluded after the completion of checks.
Our office recognises that the time taken to process your application may be causing your client and his family few concern however please note that further assessment and/or finalisation consideration of your application cannot proceed until all legislative requirements have been met.
You will be notified when there would be update on your client's case.
Yours sincerely,
Immigration and Border Protection Section
(Department of Home Affairs)Australian High Commission, Islamabad"
Ok thanks for reply. I can see the pain people go through after such a generic email where no specific progress is shared.
You've passed the standard timeline of processing now. Did you guys consider approaching DHA via a minister? I heard this is the legal channel as well where reply from DHA are more specific to your application, like what halting the prgress of your application. Also DHA responds fatser when approach via minister.
Since your case is straightforward like no previous marriage for both of you or overstay visa violation, therefore there is no apparent reason for not getting visa. But there must be something which is halting the progress of your application.
Good luck & lots of prayers for you both.

My isb PCC states 3 months. But dept consider its validity for a year.
if you get pcc from a country after your exit and doesn’t enter there again then its valid for the time until you start living there again.
Thanks. This PCC is of applicant (wife) who is currently living in Karachi and her PCC validity is going to finish on 30 april (6 months expiry as stated on PCC). I'm just concerned whether to proceed to make new PCC or wait for CO request.
-
13 hours ago, MnMA said:
Its valid for 12 months. Better to aubmit new one before CO ask as it will waste a little time (CO will request and you will apply and submit and after 2-3 weeks CO will check docco)
The PCC I got from Karachi says its valid for 6 months. Does DHA has different timeline for expiry, like 12 months?

Is it really so. I have been sending them status updates. May be that's the reason, visa got delayed. They recently asked me to upload updated pcc. So what should I do now? Just upload the pcc on immi account and don't sent them email telling that pcc has been uploaded.
Its ok. Don't worry about previous status emails, just in future take care. As of now I think you should send update email that you've uploaded the updated PCC. Looks like your visa grant is near, IA.
When your PCC was going to expire? And is it Pakistan's PCC?
Good luck.

I met my immigration agent from Zarnab today. He said everytime a status update email is sent to home affairs, case is delayed by 1 month. Is that really so?
I'm not sure its delayed by 1 month or 2, but I heard from different sources that sending status email delays the process.
Good luck @Dr.samra I wish and pray may God help you.

@Lilly23 My case was not that simple or straight, I have explained her (CO) everything about my previous breakups in a word document,. submitting docs in upfront would help u a bit.
Thank you. I think explaining breakup relationships is better. I didn't did this. Actually we should fill as many gaps as possible. In my case it was khula but NADRA divorced certificate just mentions "divorced" therefore CO might think husband has given divorce when it is actually opposite. Anyways, i think I didn't hide anything and mentioned as much details as possible.
Thanks again bro and wish you both a very happy Eid in advance

Could you just tell if your case was straightforward? And when you got married?

I made some mistakes on my form 40 and 80 inregards to the addresses mentioned from last 10 years since I had lack of documents at the time to fill up those columns I had to recall and hence the dates are incorrect and an address is missing aswell
i am afraid this will make my case delay so I don’t know what to say now it’s made me sad and dishearten immensely
Don't be dishearten and sad. I also realized that I made few mistakes but soon after realizing I updated Notification of incorrect answers under Update details
You can do the same. In one of my overseas PCC, the authorities did a typo while printing my passport # so I made a separate document and stated clearly that it is a typo by the issuing body.
May be you can do the same. Why to give them a chance to raise any mistake/issue?
Good luck

I would advise you to make sure you frontload complete checklist from AHC Islamabad (search previous posts of this thread where members have shared checklist pdf). Also, since it's your 2nd marriage, I would advise you to write a separate statuary declaration explaining why your previous relationship didn't work (and ended in divorce or khula?) and details how you decided to go for 2nd marriage. This second advice is merely on my experience, as mine is 2nd marriage as well, and I feel if I had provided this kind of statement then my case would be stronger and easier for CO to take the decision.
Good luck bro.
