Dear All I wonder if anyone could advise me regarding how to rent a home through realestate agents upon returning back to UK? We will be arriving in Feb 2018, and we won;t be having jobs on arrival. We have good references from our last realesatet agent in UK and would be happy to pay in advance too. I just don't now whether agencies would accept that ? Any info would be very much appreciated Minoo

Thanks so much for sharing that info. We have good references from our last realestate agents and the reference only dates back to Sep 2017. We could also pay upfront too. I just was not sure whether the agency would even consider this. Did the person who viewed the property on your behalf had to pay a sum to reserve it ? Only asking as last time we rented and expressed an interest we had to pay agent fees so that they would stop the viewings. Thanks again

Dear All Has anyone commenting on this page actually completed their move ? We're planning a move back but I'm not sure on how people sort out rentals. My understanding is you must have a job to get a home rental through an agent. Or can you actually rent it from Australia, say if you send your friends/relatives to view a property in UK on your behalf ? We don't have much belongings in Australia so we'll be only packing clothes and go back to UK. Issue of accommodation is stressing us though Thank you for any info Minoo

Dear All. Thank you for sharing all this information, it is such a relief to know other people are going through similar situations and yet make it and manage it to UK successfully. We're thinking of going back to Manchester UK, beginning of Feb 2018. I am really worried about finding accommodation in Manchester as neither me nor hubby will not be having jobs on arrival. We do not have any family in Manchester either. I wonder if anyone had to deal with something similar ? How did you sort out a place to stay ? Is Airbnb the only option ? someone mentioned short term rentals, please could you name a few. We're getting mad with the stress and feeling overwhelmed as we have noone in UK and can only rely on ourselves. Any info would be gratefully received. Thank you Minoo
