    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

it's getting longer again I think NSW has the longest processing times between all states, I've just received an email with further document requests on my application and they are processing my application in Queensland rural office which is awkward because I'm in rural NSW.

Yes, there are heaps of applicants who got their approval in less than that, but it differs from case to case. In my case, I'm waiting for 11 months now with no updates.

Thanks for the information, in this case, do I have to call them or do I have to fill a special travel request form. on the other hand, please see below: Section 22B of the Citizenship Act provides that persons engaged in particular kinds of work requiring regular travel outside Australia are eligible for a special residence requirement. To meet this special residence requirement, during the four year period immediately before they submit their application, a person must have: been engaged in the prescribed work for at least two years; been ordinarily residing in Australia, and have been a permanent resident for the last 12 months; been present in Australia for at least 480 days in total, including at least 120 days during the 12 months immediately before applying; and not been present in Australia as an unlawful non-citizen.

it's usually a few weeks, I don't have to inform the immi department. When you are granted a permanent visa, you are usually permitted a 5-year travel facility. This means you can leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you like in the 5 years from the date your permanent visa was granted, as long as your visa remains valid. I usually check the VEVO website every time I go to double-check the PR validity form my understanding, if I traveled for more than 90 days, I'll have to issue a police clearance from the country I visited.

Yes, its part of my Job to travel overseas at least twice a year. I was thinking with this scenario one day, that my application is kept on hold every time I travel but not sure how true is that

I can see from watching this thread that people applied in the last 4-6 months received their approval so quickly, what about the previous applicants then? Should it be first in first receive approval!!

I travel multiple times per year with my company for business and it's all HR countries, will that be affecting the process time? does that mean the border and security department will have to investigate my file every time I go for an overseas trip?
