According to the list here, there is one guy who applied at the end of July from Melbourne actually got the test date today. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JYRvi6XH4LKUvdCW5vmCG44U7VG469oZNQeKgceVDO4/edit?ts=589cfc5c#gid=0 Looks like they are speeding it up! Does local council make any difference to the test dates or the difference is just for ceremony dates?

haha thanks man, no test date yet

Thanks, why here it says test/interview then? https://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/Citizenship-before-your-test-interview

hey guys, I just realized I have selected the wrong council (applicant's local council) with my application. Should I call and fix this or it's not a big deal?

Hi guys, I got a question, can I travel overseas whilst my citizenship application is being processed? I applied in August and it will be a long waiting time before my application get processed, now I have to travel overseas for some family stuff but I have heard that I cannot travel overseas after lodging my citizenship application, is this right? Cheers,

Hey guys, I lodged my application in August and now waiting to be processed which probably will take months! Now can I travel overseas during this long waiting time? I remember there was a question in the form that if I plan to travel overseas in the next 12 months and I answered no, but now plans have changed and I have to travel for some family stuff. Will it cause issues to my application? Appreciate your help with this!

Exactly what a waste of time, look at current processing time now : Australian Citizenship application type 75% of applications processed in 90% of applications processed in Conferral (lodgement to ceremony**) 10 months 14 months It used to be just under 3 months!

The website still insists on the new rules!! http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi/am-i-eligible

Big win

Sad part is even it doesn't pass or even with the new amendment bill, it is going to be a long waiting time considering amount of applications on hold! But this new amendment bill was a win for sure!

I am submitting my citizenship application and got confused by form 1195. There is a list of occupations that can sign the picture and the form. Now I don't know if I can ask a university lecturer to sign it or not. The occupation listed is : 37 . Teacher employed on a full-time basis at a school or tertiary education institution Does this include a university lecturer? ( From Swinburne University) Thank you.

Any one knows the answer of my question? Will someone be banned for sometime if apply under old rules and get rejected when new rules get approved?
-
Hi all, My first post here, I appreciate if you can help. Me and my wife just became eligible to apply for citizenship under old rules. I want to apply anyway hoping that the new rules will be rejected or at least there will be changes to the retrospective part. My question is , if the new rules get approved and our application gets rejected, will we be banned for applying again for a period of time (i.e 2 or 3 years)? Or it won't effect our future applications (once we become eligible again with the new rules!)? Cheers, Hoomi
