Hi,
I have applied for visa 190 on 1st Feb 2020, in the General Accountant category & it was an offshore application. At the time of applying I already had 1 year of experience as an accountant in Australia. In the state sponsorship invite, they have mentioned that I need to stay and work in NSW for two years. Since I already have one year experience does anyone know whether this 2 years will count that one year's experience.
Or is it 2 years live and work in NSW from the day they grant us PR.
Many people say that it takes about 8 months for them to grant PR for Accountants for visa 190. Is it true? And have ayone heard any PR visa 190 rejections for accountants.
Thank you
Alan

Thanks for the responses all.

And below, the general rules for points:

*IELTS, not Ilets
As long as your English test is valid on the date you received your final invitation, you should be fine.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if NSW still require the 1 year teaching in state experience?
I cannot find any information on this.
Thanks all!
Yes they do, see below screenshot from here.
The additional criteria in the above screenshot is:

Hi all
How common is it for the big consulting/accounting firms (e.g. Deloitte, KPMG, etc) to offer to sponsor a new employee on a 186 DE while they are offshore?
And does it make a difference if the potential employee is at a high level?
Thanks!

When you complete the EOI, it will automatically calculate your points (i.e. will only give you the points if the occupations are on the appropriate lists). You don't have to input the points yourself.

190 I have applied for, again heard nothing back, i have 90 points on this and am led to believe that the Auditor points ceiling is 95, so unless anything changes im not holding out much hope.
491, i'm currently in the country on a TSS working for a firm in Sydney, so not sure this would work for me.
I think my only real option will be to transfer onto the 186 in a few years time.
Oh I see - I didn't realise you were in the country already. Yeah, a mate of mine has just gone this route (from 457 to 186) as an Auditor. It was his only real option.

Unfortunately that was my thinking too. I was holding out hope that they have finally decided to look into my EOI and i'd hear something soon, ahh well!
As an aside, have you explored other visa options such as 190 or 491? (as you mentioned, a 189 invite is not likely with 85 points)
-
Very interesting - never seen that before, but it looks to me like an automated email being sent to ensure correct points are claimed at EOI stage, rather than getting to application stage and finding the issue then.
-
Might be worth screenshotting or copying and pasting the information from the email request here.
-
According the points table, no points are awarded for less than 1 year.

Based on my own research, I'm thinking West End, Paddington or Bulimba.
These are all great. Also check out New Farm.

@Ausvisitor Fair enough. I approached a partner and all worked out for me. But approaching HR would work as well and might be a safer option I guess.
However in my experience, HR do not have the power to make decisions over visa sponsorships - the partners had to make those calls and inform HR.

3. Does anyone know if big 4 offers 407 or 482 visa?
Yes - I was on a sponsored work visa in auditing at a big 4 firm. It might be worth approaching a partner you have worked with and enquiring.

Yes the residence calculator says that we are eligible to apply for citizenship.
It doesn't appear that you have met the below requirements:

@Ausvisitor is correct. With a 190, you get PR immediately. With a 491, you have to prove you lived & worked in the designated regional area BEFORE you are granted PR.

As mentioned, be open and honest. My wife was on anti-depressants for a while, so we said yes to that question. At the medical, the doctor asked a couple of questions about it and said it's nothing to worry about. We got our visa granted a few weeks ago.

Yes I read about the bridging B visas too, do you know if they are easy to get or do you have to meet certain requirements? e.g. compassionate circumstances, like a funeral or wedding?
Bridging visa B is easy and quick to get. I got one in November. I just said I was visiting family back home. Didn't have to provide any evidence. It was granted within a day or 2.

Hi guys. I’m on the 482 visa and found a new sponsor who has already submitted an application for nomination transfer. My question is, will the Department of Home Affairs contact me regarding this application?
I did a transfer in February last year and did not receive any contact from the DHA.

For what it's worth - this is an excerpt from the email NSW sent through when they approved our state nomination application.

I called NSW and let them know that we can move only next December (2020). We will move as soon as we find full time work.
What was their response?

Check out this link (scroll down to "If you’ve applied for permanent residency"): https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/subjects/how-enrol-and-get-started-medicare/enrolling-medicare/how-enrol-medicare-if-youre-australian-permanent-resident
I think you're eligible. I enrolled with Medicare while my PR was processing, but my application was onshore.
If you want to be sure, just visit a Medicare service centre and they'll be able to guide you.
