  2. Hi, We are due to move to Perth in August what is the best way to transfer & save our savings in Australia? We have opened Australian bank accounts could a straight transfer online from U.K. account to Australian account? Or do we need to use a transfer company? What's the best way to save our savings? Yes this is the process I thought also from information on the website ,but I had read on other posts that some people's had obtained limited registration prior to a job, but I cannot see details of this, as you point out details of your supervisor are required for limited registration. Can I ask: did your friend find work fairly easily or did it take some time? Are companies willing to see individuals through there probation period? Thanks Zoe

  6. Thank you for this info we have a 5 yr old with a 2 car seats (one for each car) but having just checked the website online they are not legal in Australia, so guess I can take them off the lists of items to ship! Thanks

  9. Thank you, we had thought to keep them open & have a back up cc for "just in case" or emergencies. Currently in the process of de-cluttering think we are going with ship all essentials and things that are going to last us longer than 3 years e.g TV, deter. Items that would replacing within the next 3 years we r going to buy new over there. Thank you
  10. Hi, Just been granted a 189 visa for myself & our family. I'm currently planning the big move including the sale of our house, business etc. Any advice or things to consider before & after the move with regards to every day life and settling down would be appreciated, things you wish you'd have know before you moved that may have made things easier. Any links to websites with advice/blogs on emigrating with information regarding everyday essentials like opening banks, healthcare etc Thanks in advance

  12. Hi, Iv just been granted a 189 visa, can AHPRA registration be applied for prior to obtaining a job? any OTs out there already made the move willing to share there experience? Experienced OT with 7yrs experience- any advice on looking for work-any advice appreciated-thanks in advance Zoe

Hi I'd like to know this too, as far iv read on the 'step by step process for overseas trained practitioners' it does state that limited AHPRA registration application can be obtained once been offered a position in Australia as details are required for supervised practise but this is a OTcouncil document. I'm still awaiting full Visa grant 189 so haven't fully got my head around AHPRA yet
  14. Iv have just done this for a 189 they didn't want individual payslips, P60 was sufficient for proof of payment. I did have to request a written reference from each employer detailing my pay & job role also to prove my years of experience I was claiming points for.   15. Hi is it worth taking "everything", I have a range cooker and would love to ship it. Do people generally take all household items, such as washing Machines, fridges etc or is it more cost effect to be selective and purchase items when you arrive?   16. Sounds exciting opportunity! I have just applied for a 189 visa qualified OT with 10 years experience. I'm currently waiting a grant that was submitted in August so may have a long wait.   20. Iv had an invitation to apply for 189 visa via skill select however when I log into my immi account it's not showing my application- even though iv started it. Is there another way to access this application other than going via skill select email every time as it's not saving information I have input?
