Where did you lodged your application from?

Visit visa is different from your partner visa, they will call you again for 309 visa, We applied for our visa in february, and i thought we will receive our call in 6 months after observing the forum, but we got our call in October (in 8 months). I see most applications from march have been granted their visas and we feb ones are still waiting. So its very unpredictable. You cant predict your timelinebased on the forum.

Congratz Par, i wish you all the best for your future life. Based on your timeline, you got visa in 10 months and 12 days.. that means we should expect any response first week of January. Lets hope for the best.

Aaaand my wife phoned Aus Highcommission this morning. She was given official standard reply “your visa fil number??.... your application is in process and our standard processing time is 12 months to 17 months, we will contact you via email for any updates.. thank you”... He didnt let her speak or say anything. He was quick like a robot in his response. And only pause to hear file number. So, all we can do now is just wait and continue to wait [emoji24]

My wife (applicant) received an interview call on 05th October 2015. We were requested additional documents on the same day. Documents include applicant’s polio certificate, updated police certificate for both applicant and sponsor and two affidavits from Pakistan. We were able to submit it on 25th October. Since then, its been a painful wait. Its 300 days today ( 10 months on 22nd December). We are planning to call Aus Highcomission on wednesday. Its going to be a long weekend this weekend (25th is xmas, 26th is boxing day and 27th is additional day off) then two days and then again weekend plus monday is new years day. Im worried they will respond alot slower during this xmas and new years’ holidays. [emoji58]

Its a question for all the experts and people with similar experiences, We applied 309 visa with help from a migration agent and now i want to enquire about my wife’s case. Agent is resisting in sending an enquiry to case officer and is insisting on waiting for his (case officer’s) response after uploading additional documents. My wife is getting a little stressed as its been 295 days (almost 10 months) from the date of Application, and its been 1.5 months after uploading additional documents. My question is, if i send an email enquiry about her case to australian highcommission islamabad myself instead of my migration agent, how will it affect my wife’s case? Will it be negative for our case because case officers might think why applicant herself is sending an enquiry instead of the person assigned to receive communications (migration agent). We are a little confused. Any help will be appreciated. Is there anyone who sent an email enquiry themselves instead of their migration agents? And what was case officers response? Cheers, -

For medical it costs Rs 8,000 to 10,000 (sorry dont remember exact amount, we did in March this year), For police certificate, it cost us 5,000 each (we had to do it twice as it expires in 6 months, and its been 10 months from the lodgement date).

Medical Certificate expires in one year and police certificate expires in 6 months. I suggest providing medical and police certificate after three months of the lodgement. Interview call is mostly expected in 6 to 8 months..

We lodged it through a solicitor in sydney. Its been almost 10 months and we are getting a bit impatient as i am visiting my wofe and have one month to return and was hoping to have her visa before i go back to ozz. I asked my agent to send CO an email about update and he is resisting as it willhave a negative impact on your case (which seems a weird excuse) and now im worried if i send an email myself without getting agent involved then im worried CO might think why me and why not agent himself.. im just confused and worried and regretting my decision of hiring a solicitor and not applying it myself.. its going to be 300 days from date of application in 5 days. I applied on 22nd February 2017.

Its going to be 10 months in 10 days. And 2.5 months after interview.. no update as of yet.. [emoji24]

Congratz Hiba, Pray for us, our timeline is, DoA: 22nd Feb, DoI: 5th Oct, DoG:??? This question mark on visa grant is stressful, i am visiting my wife (applicant) and going back to Ozz in january. We are hoping to get our grant before i return.

Dont hold any fresh documents back, upload it as soon as possible on your application via immi account. Case officers work on multiple applications at one time and work through them by prioritizing the one with latest updates. Sometimes your application get instant attention when u upload something new and it goes up the priority. I would suggest do it asap after weekend.

If its still confusing then you can always submit form 929 by filling in updated details on that form and post it to department addresses given on the form. https://www.border.gov.au/Forms/Documents/929.pdf

When your visa is granted, your consultant is out of the picture. Then you can check your visa status and update details yourself using “Visa Entitlement Verification Online (Vevo). You will need your Visa grant number, passport number and date of birth to login. And once your logged in, you can update your details.
