Hi wondering if anyone can help me. Was hoping to move to Australia in February, on a New Zealand passport. My daughter has been informed that if I fell ill and had to have hospital care and I couldn't afford to pay the bill she would be held responsible for it. Is this true. Hi I'm actually moving over to Aus because I want to be near my daughter and grandchildren I want to be part of their lives. I know in my heart I'd rather stay in UK, I'm widowed and have been for 30 years my husband died when the girls were only 1 and 5 so as they live the other side of the world I'm moving over there. I can understand how your feeling the holiday a long one is probably the best one to go with and then you will have to make that hard decision. I don't have anyone else to worry about but my daughter and grand kids and I know for me it's where I want to be. I will miss England very much but they will make up for it. Hi hoping someone can help me moving to Queensland next February, wondering if there is an age limit to becoming a citizen after the required time of living there. Also if at sometime later on in my life I need care obviously my pension etc would go to that, but not having worked in Aus would I still get a top up from government or not if it were needed. Hi The reason I'm heading there is my daughter lives right on the Gold Coast. Just wish there was a granny annex but never mind. I do like the Sunshine Coast so will maybe have to gave a better look towards the areas bordering onto Gold Coast. Hi I am in the same situation I have. A New Zealand passport and heading over Jan 18' heading to Gold Coast, it really is frightening but having my daughter there with the only grandchildren I will ever have makes me pretty determined to do it. Basically I will have to rent but hope to b able to take a boarder in to help pay for it. I was over last Xmas and rang up and told that on my NZ passport I get the Medicare plus depending on my pension it would be made up to the Aus pension. You mention a TFN can I ask you what that is.
