  1. I think if you are from the UK there seems to be two routes you can take, either fill out the 888’s and make sure you have someone from the ‘professional list’ to witness the signature, colour scans of ID are definitely acceptable, alternatively a typed statement on blank paper and witnessed etc... the migration booklet is definitely out of date since online applications have taken over and there is a lot of conflicting info, I’ve trawled these forums for hours and lots of people’s applications have been accepted using these methods so I shouldn’t worry too much, I think other aspects of the applicant hold more weight, this is just a small part of it, so don’t worry too much, thanks for your kind words, I hope your application runs smoothly and you soon receive good news.

  3. That is very frustrating, I tried to fill in the applicants application a few weeks ago and the system was down then too, it’s really annoying when you want to make progress, I believe the payments can sometimes take a day to be acknowledged. On a brighter note from what I’ve read on here and other forums the applications are being processed very quickly at the moment providing they are packaged well, so once you have attached everything let’s hope you will have news promptly, chocolate is a great distraction [emoji6]

  4. Hi there, I’ve copied and pasted this info for you.

    Form 888 Statutory declaration by a supporting witness in relation to a Partner or Prospective Marriage visa application
    A few of the specified rules realting to NON Australian Declarations for Form 888

    If the visa applicant is outside Australia and is unable to have an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident complete this form, any person who knows the applicant and their partner or fiancǸ(e) may also complete this form.

    If you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident and you reside outside Australia, your statement cannot be considered a statutory declaration under Australian law, even if it is made using this form or the template provided by the Attorney-General’s Department.

    However, under policy, your statement should be witnessed or certified according to the legal practices of the country in which you make the statement.

    Failing that, it should be witnessed by a person whose occupation or qualification is comparable to those Prescribed personslisted below.
    This person should sign, date and specify their occupation at the bottom of the statement.

    Prescribed persons include those who are a:

    Justice of the Peace;
    medical practitioner;
    legal practitioner;
    civil marriage celebrant or registered minister of religion;
    dentist;
    nurse;
    optometrist;
    pharmacist;
    physiotherapist;
    full-time teacher;
    bank manager or bank officer with 5 or more continuous years of service;
    postal manager or permanent employee of the Australian Postal Commission with 5 or more continuous years of service;
    police officer;
    public servant with 5 or more continuous years of service

    I’ve actually used form 888 although I’m applying offshore, my friends and family have had their forms witnessed by a doctor, solicitor and teacher....when supplying ID, colour scans of passports have been used, I’ve used the Australian Forum to research lots of information, there’s a few migrant agents and moderators on there that offer good advice, quite a few people have done the same thing without any problem, it may be worthwhile having a look through the forum. 5. I totally agree, lots of information is relating to paper applications, whereas most opt for online now, there’s lots of conflicting information, it’s very time consuming researching and it’s not always easy finding the info you need, this is a handy site tho,I also find the Australia Forum very useful, hope all goes well with your application.

  6. I always thought Nicki's bits were filmed somewhere like/ nr Cape Tribulation. ( I don't know that- it just looks similar).
    We always watch it out of interest. Maybe how it's edited but sometimes it feels like the people judge the Aussie houses as if they are the only 3 houses available on the market. Surely people must go on real estate.com.au or domain to see what they could get within their budget. I've been looking on those sites for years! Lol!

    She’s definitely in Cairns, a few of her scenes have been on trinity beach, we’ve spent a lot of time there and have recognised a few places.
