At least they're now acknowledging that they don't process according to date you submitted your application.

Wonder if they will actually admit they prioritise certain professions over others even in the the same occupations priority list.

  2. So I called immi last Thursday. They said my file has been recently allocated to co but he has not started assessing the application. No further details were provided by them.

Would anyone know how much longer I can expect to wait for CO to start assessing?

Visa and nom applied 19 March 16.

I called them today I told them they are doing April files from 4 months. They say they can't do anything they are following ministers order.

If that's the case then they should be upfront and honest, and reveal to is what's the 'ministers orders' are.

Does anyone have any idea how much the occupation matters with regards to processing time? I'm planning on submitting my application for 187 RSMS DE as a medical officer nominated by NSW.

IMO your occupation is everything here. !!!

the higher qualified jobs get assessed a lot quicker. If , like me , you are a simple manager then prepare for a very long wait.

I believe there are some medically trained persons here who were assessed within 6 months !!! Whereas I'm waiting since March 2016. As a restaurant manager.

Just get it done. It doesn't cost much , relatively.

But may potentially save you a lot of time.

No. My file has not been opened. No contact received from immigration despite me calling them many many times.

I'm guessing that if you are waiting for July and you have been waiting more than 13 months you would be likely get your visa because if you will be rejected they don't need to wait a new financial year you will be rejected by now. Does it make sense? So heads up you will get a good news on July!

That is some hope. But I'll only believe I have the visa when I have a printed hard copy in my hands.?

  8. I've been watching some YouTube videos of Melbourne based Bajwa MA.

from what I understand there is fixed number of visas granted to each occupation every financial year. The most popular occupations are managers (of all kinds).  Therefore these fill up fast. The tradie type of occupations and very highly skilled don't get many applications therefore they are continually granted throughout the financial year.

What does this mean for you??

if like me you have applied as a manager or cook etc (19march16) and still  are waiting what I believe has happened is that the annual limit has been reached for this financial year. For the tradie occupations, because there are fewer applications they still getting their grants approved. I believe we just have to wait till the new financial year starts on 1st July and then I expect there to be quite a lot of visa granted (or refused, depending on your file!!!!!!!) for manager occupations. So don't expect too much for the rest of this month. Look forward to July

    Hope that helps you guys.

    Congratulations sahibb.

Just a bit of info for everyone else.  What I'm led to believe is that if immi ask you for further documents or paperwork  etc then you chance of getting pr is increased greatly.

If the CO was going to refuse you then he would have done without asking for more information.

Unhappy thoughts are coming through my mind at the moment. I am thinking about giving up and going back to Europe. At least there I know I can move forward... what is holding me is the fact I invested almost 15k in visa fees, agent and ancillary costs not considering the school fees for 3 years.. and I don't grow money on a tree...

    Know what you mean.

For my family and I we just want a decision. Even a refusal. At least we know where we stand and can move on from there.

Thiis is almost like a prison sentence!

I've rang many times. They give same message As everyone else.

Files not opened yet. Just need to wait. But I may ring or write to ombudsman next week.

If we faced this type of delay in private sector for some services then by now they would be offering us at least a partial refund.

I have got reply from ombudsman the officer said as the timeline is 14 months he cant investigate but he can do after I crossed 14 months.. If there is somebody who is waiting for more than 14 months can go for ombudsman..I think it will help

Is that 14 months from lodging nom and visa?

might as well see if I can give them a try. I've just crossed 14 months.

How long did ombudsman take to respond?

and do you have their contact details?

I am just curious, how possible the employer could waiting for a worker to start work for more than a year, especially those offshore applicants or apply their applications step by step? So they fill someone temporary for the position till that ideal person to get their visa then fire the temporary one and things change every minutes .

It doesn't make any sense at all.

That's exactly what my MA stated. The RSMS system doesn't make sense. Because of this he said that this is one of the reasons the Australian govt MAY get rid of this 187 visa in the future and replace with another version.

As you said it doesn't make sense for an employer to spend all this  time to get a foreign worker. What does he do in the mean time whilst he is waiting upto two years??

  14. If you go to your local MP his office will refer your questions to the federal MP as this is a federal matter.

The federal MP will ask you to sign a form giving his office permission to query your application.

Immi will in the first instance give the same response to the MP that they have told you. Basically , just wait! your mp will pass you the same response and end of matter. You are still stuck where you are.

Now, if you have a good MP he may push a bit harder on immi  and get a favourable outcome for you ie a positive, or any decision!

    give it a try.

Dont bother writing to immigration ministers Duttons office or Pm's office. You won't get a response at all.

Your MP is best bet. Mention exactly what 27may2016 said. Also mention the emotional and mental pain it is causing you.

    And best of luck.
