    Hi Scott

We’ve applied for a 187 direct entry RSMS visa for the NT. I have a sponsor in place waiting for me but the wait it still set to be a long one. It’s possible we may apply for a temporary visa while we wait for the 187.

No children so that makes things easier for us in terms of the move itself.

Sometimes it feels like we are never going to get there. Reading through this forum there are so many people with their lives on hold just waiting in limbo for some news, with no guarantee.

I agree take what you can, get there and then rethink if you want to change or apply for a different visa.

    Good luck though guys.

    Emma

We just had our 187 DE visa (Hairdresser) for the NT refused on 01/08/18 at nomination stage after waiting for 22 months ?

    Hey,

Do we have any hairdresser updates??

    Thanks.

I87 de - Off shore - LR - Hairdresser -  After 22 months of waiting have just received nomination refusal. Reason given was that employer would not be able to pay salary - what a pathetic and feeble excuse. Will not be appealing as it will be a waste of more time and valuable money. The whole immigration process is flawed with stupid reasons given to most refusals.

To all of you waiting best of luck and hope your dreams come true

I applied for DE originally Dec 16th 2015,. Back then the time frame was accurate and immigration would complete each month within around 6 weeks before moving on to the next and on average visas were taking up to 8 months to be processed. Unfortunately I had to withdraw my application as my sponsors business closed and that was after an 8 month wait in the processing line.

We found a new sponsorship and 1St  sept 2016 we applied all over again, paying all over again for 5 of us and starting at the beginning of the line.

Since then the time line has changed nearly every month for the passed 21 months,  it's gone up and down up and down, it is not accurate and they no longer process each month and then move on. They selectively process application's by occupation and just leave others on hold stuck in the system. You can call but it makes no difference we have called numerous times, you can write a letter of complaint but it makes no difference we have twice now and you can request your application be prioritised, again this makes no difference we aso tried this.

Immigration can do what they want when they want and the grant is their decision. waiting for the second time and have reached the four year mark of when this all began for us and it all seems a bit desperate now but we've come this far so I guess we keep going and see was the universe has planned for us.

My advise to everyone is to agnore the time line and forget about your visa and when it comes through it comes through. Enjoy your time where you are with who your with and live for now.

Trust me, me and my little family have been living day by day for 4 years waiting for these visas and in the end you stop and realise you've missed out big time. My kids have grown up right under nose and I was so busy obsessing over the visa is forgot what was right in front of me.

This passed 6 months we have stopped obsessing about the visas and what could be if we get to Australia and focused one what is really important, our sons and living in the now.

Good luck to everyone what will be will be.

    Well Said ??

I spoke to immigration (NSW Pese) and asked this very question - my health assessment expired last week, she advised me not to renew until requested by case officer as the case officer has discretion to make a decision as to whether or not a new one is required. But she very clearly said 'we advise all our of our clients not to renew health assessments until requested to by a case officer". I cannot speak for police clearance certs sorry.

Agreed,  I think it will be at the discretion of the case officer for any renewals

No if you have read what I have post you have to renew the document because they are not going to ask you anymore

Well not sure of that because most applicants have provided all required docs when submitting visa application - If the dept have NOT processed applications on time surely then docs submitted i.e. Ilets - Police Clearance - Medicals etc should still be valid during the processing time - Imagine the extra cost that will be incurred if they have to be renewed

What if you have done medical and provided police certificates at time of application but 1 2 month passes without your visa being processed? Do you immediately have to get them all done again or will they still ask you for updated ones?

Only renew them if requested by immi dept.

Hi I have recently done a skills assessment but my agent who has been really good submitted everything for me, it’s not somebody on here as I found this site after I found my agent . But from the top of my head here are some of stuff I sent her - references from previous employer, (I was employed for 10 years) wage slips , (then been self employed for 5) so tax records for last 5 years , references from clients, receipts/ invoices from wholesalers, certificates, self employed template, which I had to fill in giving some clients names and phone numbers, services I offer etc. That was the first part of skilled assessment then I had to do technical interview in London , so I revised for that about the science side of hairdressing- the colour wheel, what the hair is made up of etc, different cutting techniques, different colour techniques, stock in the salon , reception services, making appointments etc. This was all done through vetassess. To be honest I found it all very very stressful getting the info together but the actual technical interview wasn’t to bad . My struggle has been to pass the English test, but I finally got it recently, just had to write a commitment statement as we are doing the 190 visa and get a bit more info together on the Northern Territory. I’m hoping to put my EOI in within a few days . Then the dreaded wait begins.

i hope this has been a little bit helpful x

Hi - My wife is a hairdresser and also submitted similar documents as you have on her full time employment, she was however  lucky to have her vetassess (technical interview ) done over a Skype interview which was brilliant and stress free in the comfort of our home.

She has been sponsored by a hairdresser in the NT and have used a MA from there - We have submitted our visa application for the 187 DE and this was done in Oct 2016 - Yes Oct 2016  We have not heard a thing from immigration since. The current processing time is 17-19 months. Just to fore warn you this is a long long process and lots of patience is needed. Maybe the 190 visa will be quicker - good luck.

I have had experience with different MAs over my time in AU whilst on different Visas.

I do believe they make a difference to processing times.

I'm not sure if the department will always favour more reputable agents - but in my experience it seems like that is the case.

For example - 457 with a small agency in Sydney - took 6 months to come through.

I then had another 457 with EY (Ernst Young) - back within 3 weeks.

Just my observations based on my personal experience.

I think you may have a valid point there ???
