  1. Thanks😅 I knew it didn’t sound like the correct information, but I was for sure second guessing myself! I did read my letter several times. But sometimes you just need to ask the daft questions to put your mind at ease.

  2. Hi. We have our 190 which was granted September 2022. We have been to Australia to activate it. We are still in the UK at present. When we move do we just go on the 190 or do we need the RRV (I’ve asked a couple people and been totally stressed out as they seem to think we need ‘return paper work’!).

  3. Hi, we recently  got our 190 grant. We are looking to move to NSW. I’m just look at renting/buying at the moment.  I’ve read some where that you need to be living in NSW for at least 200 days before you can buy a house. Is that accurate?

    thanks.

  4. Hi,

We have been fortunate enough to get our 190 grant. We are hoping to get out to Oz for Christmas to activate the visa. Although I have a PR grant do I still need to apply for the ‘visitors visa’ (that you would normally when visiting Australia) to enter Oz for this journey? And when I get to the airport where do I actually go🙈 am I just a visitor at this point or am I a resident! 😄

  5. Hi @Cobs_Ahoy. Not sure if your still look for an answer to your question re: Mat leave, but yes the time is deducted from your time spent in employment. My mat leave amounted to a year so I had a year take off my total years work experience (if that makes sense🙈). how you getting on with your application. 🦋

  6. Hi @Cobs_Ahoy. It’s a difficult one when there’s kids involved! Mine are 9 and 10. Ideally I would want my youngest to finish primary but I don’t know how realistic that is if we did get a visa. I guess it would depend on the visa as well. If it was a 491 we would go as soon as we could. But if we were lucky enough to secure a 190 theres a bit more flexibility with time frames and stuff.

would you be planning on leaving soon after getting your visa?

  7. Hey😁

Thanks. It’s so difficult to know what to do, as every state seems to have a different approach!
thats great you have a point of contact already. Half the battle just knowing someone that can give you some guidance.

are you holding out for Queensland?
My EOI runs out the middle of next year  so anything would be great😄

  8. Your IELTS score is pretty much similar to mine! I sat it three times and couldn’t get higher than a 7.5 in writing. I’ve a Masters degree and a Post grad but it doesn’t make a difference in IELTS! Try the PTE. It is much easier to study for. I passed mine with a 90. The PTE question bank and mock test were recommend to me from a thread on here. It helped. and watch YouTube videos that’s a good study source.

  9. The more points the better!

I am sitting at 85 for my 491, and 75 for my 190!

we are the same. A PR visa would be my preference as we are moving with two young kids. But as long as you meet all the requirements for the 491 you can apply for PR after three years. I think mainly they look to see if you have consistently earned the minimum expected (I think it’s around $54,000).

to be honest I would take any visa in any region! 😁

job luck with contacting employers. I would love to hear how u get on. It’s not an option I had thought about?
