  1. Hello, In January 2015 I commenced a working holiday visa in Australia. During that time I met my partner, a resident of Australia. We moved in together and spent approximately 9 months living together before I returned to the UK in December 2015 to commence the process of immigrating permanently. Since then we have continued the relationship long distance, with the exception of two occasions, in September 2016 and March 2017, when we reunited temporarily. Since 2015, I have continued on a pathway to obtain an Australian 189 Skilled Visa. This includes completing the following requirements; undertaking a police check & health assessment, obtaining a first aid level 2 certificate, and the successful completion of a skills assessment with an Australian RTA. I am now at the stage where I am looking into the Visa points test and I am uncertain of my points total. Upon initial observation, it appears that I do not have the required 60 points. This is where I seek your assistance: § Are you able to assist me in determining my points total, and advise of an potentially obtainable additional points? § If the 189 Skilled Visa is not an option, are there other VISAs that I may be eligible for? We have considered the Partner Visa, though we are uncertain of whether our relationship meets the criteria.
  2. Acutally its harder than it sounds... My current employers will NOT let me use my camera in the work place for privacy reasons. And its pretty unlikely they think I'm faking it. As my evidence of employment plus qualifications will prove.
  3. Hi there, I'm just finalising my documents while waiting to do my first aid training for a skills assessment by Vetassess. Does anyone have any experience as a Chef (Commercial Cookery) with a skills assessment? Mostly everything is complete. But I do not have any video or photo evidence to submit. I have emailed Vetassess about it but they seem to have completely ignored that part of my question. Or does anyone from another trade have any advice regarding this? Many Thanks!
  4. Hi all, So I need some help regarding the Skilled Independent Visa (189). My current situation is.. I travelled to Australia Jan 2015 for a working holiday visa. I met someone, fell in love and had to return to the UK after my one year. I am now looking into a Skilled Independent visa to gain permanent residency. I am a qualified Chef. Graduated in 2012 but have been employed as a chef since 2009 to present. I have completed my Medical Examination (All fine) and am now getting everything ready to submit my expression of interest. I have been trying forever to get in contact with the Australian Embassy via phone for advice, but had no luck. So i have some questions.. Other than my passport, what types of travel documentation can i use? Does anyone know if its necessary to complete a English Language test? I am a British citizen and completed secondary school. I am pretty sure its not necessary but could someone tell me about the completion of a recognised professional year in Australia? Does the skills assessment actually involve any practical demonstration? And what parts of the application can only be completed once i have been invited to apply? Any extra advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  5. Hi, Is there anybody on here that has completed the 189 visa that would mind discussing it with me. Preferably a Chef that has done it. But regardless of the occupation, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
