  1. fair enough - thanks for the response. I have sent through my partners CV and P60's and asked for some feedback but was told that once they have ALL of the information they will collate it all and let us know how it looks, so I'm just a bit reluctant to keep pestering them intermittently with questions until all info has been submitted. However at the same time, if its literally a case of missing references = no case, I don't see the point in pursuing things. Also reluctant to just change agency as we have already paid the initial fee and I don't think it is all refundable if we are then found not to have a case or to change agency. thanks

    hi - we are applying for a 189/190 visa on the back of my partners job (diesel fitter). He has the relevant qualifications and work experience however we are struggling to obtain references for the whole 10 years that he has been working (some companies are no longer in business and 2 jobs were for an employment agency who are telling us they can't provide references). We have pay slips and P60's. I am just writing to ask if the TRA assessment is particularly strict when it comes to providing ALL of the documents for the whole 8 years, i.e do you need pay slips, P60's and references for all years or will they accept at least one of these docs to show that he was working. Surely if you're a diesel fitter for one company its a similar sort of job at another so detailing all the equipment used and jobs carried out for every position might not be crucial?? (or is it?!) We are using Migrate me for our application however they seem quite reluctant to give any advice on this until all documents are submitted and they can look at it altogether. I just don't want to waste our time getting everything together if the lack of all 8 years references is going to mean we don't have a viable case to move. many thanks for any advice.
  3. With regard the P60's, the only other thing I can think of is a subject access request from HMRC. It sounds scary but it's basically just a request for HMRC to send you all of the information they have on you. You can do this via their website and it's free. I will definitely do this - thank you for the tip!
  4. Thanks for the advice - much appreciated. I have spoken to the agency and have been advised that we may need to submit a statutory declaration if missing certain documents. Which is doable. thanks again
  5. hello - I am very new to this process too, but we have just applied for our 189 with my partners job (on the SOL list)-is your partners job in demand in Australia? we are going via an agency - have you spoken to an agency to see if they think you have a viable case?

  7. hi - we are applying for a visa 189 with my partners job which is on the SOL. We are using Migrate Me. We have been told by the agency that we now need to provide 8 years of pay slips (3 from each year), 8 years of P60's and references from each employer over the last 8 years (on company headed paper). Whilst my partner has virtually all of these documents it seems that we are missing 1 of his P60's and a couple of pay slips. Also - one of his former companies is no longer in business so it might not be possible to have company headed paper. Has anybody else found themselves in this situation before and what did they do about it? Thank you

  10. Hello - we have been in contact with Migrate Me agency who seem convinced that we can get the relevant visa and eventually emigrate to Oz, we have been told 12 months maximum for a 189 visa. Does anybody have a different agency that they used that they would recommend or have used Migrate Me and had a positive experience? many thanks

  13. Weve been told he gets 15 points for experience of 8 years or more, he qualified in 2006 so 10 yrs of experience.
  14. - As above it is 65 - 30+10+15+10 = 65 So if he were to only score 5 for the English tests it would just be 60?? Is that not how it works?

My partner is a diesel mechanic - this is the point allocation we have been given: Age: 29: 30 points Language Test: IELTS general: 7 each band: tbc: 10 points Employment History (relevant to the listed occupation above): 8 years + post qualification: 15 points Education: NVQ 3: 10 points Criminal Record: na Medical Conditions: na Dependent details: partner and 2 children TOTAL SCORED: 65 The 65 could be reduced to 60 if he doesn't do so well in the English tests, but no reason why that would be the case. So should hopefully be 65 rather than 60. What difference does the 5 points make? The agent told me that as long as you meet the 60point requirement there wouldn't be a problem. (Slightly sceptical about agents that they will almost tell you what you want to hear - I.e, you have a sure case, I don't see any problems, so that you pay them the £2k fee for them to start the process).
