Hi every one !!! I lodged my parents visa application 143 back in oct 15 , haven't heard anything yet .

Normally i read people get requested for AOS and medicals 6-7 months in advance but nothing happens for my parents .

Secondly on facebook some one mentioned they  lodged on 4th june 15 haven't received any thing yet but at the same time someone who lodged on 23rd june 15 already got requested for AOS and medically ??  i am so confused ?   ?.Please reply

October 2015 is still quite a long way off the official processing date of 5 May 2015. Unfortunately you may need to wait for many months before you are contacted.

Yes people do apply but nobody has yet waited 30 years for a non cont 103 visa the actual wait at the moment is 8 years

Interestingly 8 years is also now the approximate processing time for new 143 applicants. So it may now be better to just apply for a 103 and you always have the option to switch later to 143.

Is it likely that the processing of the new temporary visas will delay CPV grants even further?

It shouldn’t affect the CPV stream, as there will be 15,000 new places each year just for these visas. And when you consider the cost for each new visas will be $5,000 or $10,000, they will generate around $100m per year in revenue. So should easily be able to fund the additional administration costs.

Historically immi has always been able to process the entire ‘capped’ allocation of parent visas places each year. Except for last year, and it’s difficult to really know why. But it would appear to more for politically motivated reasons, and not because immi is unable to cope with the caseload.

    Hi

I've only recently followed this forum topic and see that there are many people watching the CPV processing date getting longer and longer and are feeling the same frustration as my husband and I ?.

We moved over on a 600 visa ( granted 15 January 2018) and took our dog thinking that the 600 visa which was granted for 12 months from date of last entry would be sufficient if we left Australia and returned before the 600 visa expiry date of 15 Jan 19 but we now think it won't be enough.

I see people have had more than one 600 visa granted and I wonder if anyone can advise:-

Has anyone been granted a 2nd 600 following straight on from the 1st one (we don't have the 12 month in 18 month period condition applied on our current 600 or the no further stay condition).

If we went offshore and applied for another 600 visa before expiry of our current visa but were refused can we still enter Australia again as long as we do it before the expiry of our existing visa?

Is the online 600 extension only applicable if you have been granted a 600 visa for 3 or 6 months?

Can you get a 3 month visitor visa immediately following a 600 (might be enough if processing times don't slip too much more though not hopeful of that!)

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Maj

The 600 visa is a bit of a lottery and I'm going to be useless at answering any of your questions, but I hope others here will be able to share their own 600 experiences.

However I just wanted to say welcome to the waiting room and nice to see we have almost identical lodgement dates, so it will be interesting to compare progress in the future.

Also, there is the new temp parent visa due to start soon (or possible before Jan 2019) which may give you an alternative to another 600 without having to leave Australia. But you will need to be prepared to act quickly when applying if you do choose this option.

For us yes, we've had three 600 visas over the years and never been asked for a medical. However because we can combine it to include the Permanent Residency medical we're happy to do it. Trust me compared to going to Madrid to do it this is money well spent.

Sounds good to me and nice to get the medical over and done with. One less thing to worry about.

Well we've had a great time in Oz  for nearly 21 months on a 600 visa. We have been advised by Immigration that we won't be granted an extension as having a good time is not considered exceptional circumstances ? . I asked how long before we can apply for another 600 visa as was told as soon as you are off shore. I'm not expecting to be granted another year but we will try.

Interestingly when applying for the next 600 visa and doing the online application now (ready to press the submit button on landing in Madrid) they have asked for a medical and they also asked whether we were submitting a CPV 143 in the next 6 to 12 months. I pressed yes to which a box  popped up and said that If we were prepared to pay the extra for the chest Xray we could do the full medical and combine the 600 and CPV medical. I'm hoping to get it done in Aus before we leave. The Hap ID etc; Is all done online whilst applying for the 600 visa. We have the number and are just waiting for Immigration to tell us what tests etc; they require us to have.

We were also asked to provide certified copies of our passports. The certification was done free by our local chemist warehouse.

I'll phone Immigration on Monday to chase It and report back

Medical for a 600 visa? Is this new or was there always a medical exam for this visa?

Hello everyone, please help me with this
My family has finally received a 173 visa. We will go to aus in August. Now, I am 27 years old , so my question is when I apply for a 143 visa, do I need to prove that I still have to depend on my parents? Or can I go to work while waiting for my 143 visa being granted

And how long does it take for 143 granted ?

    Thanks

I don’t think you will have a problem when converting your 173 to 143 even considering your current age. And it probably won’t matter now if you are no longer dependent.

You already passed all the ‘tests’ for dependency when your 173 was granted. It would not be fair to make you go back home now just because the CPV process is now taking so long. I think you only need to be ‘dependent’ at the time you make the 173 application, but it would be best to check with a good immigration agent.

When did you apply for your 173 and when was it granted?

    Hi guys,

I don't see any official tracking page somewhere, so I've made this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qdUJtvi43-4Ma76iDQWtT3Dv2KK4HxA1lvQzeAB2MOE

I've included your username there. If you don't want to be included somehow, please let me know.

Please feel free to edit or make suggestion. I'll try to populate more data later.

Mod, if this is not allowed, please remove this post.

    Cheers

Nice work Peter2. Please feel free to add me to the list with lodged date 28th March 2016.

    AOS extremely long delay!!!!!

AOS application lodged on 28 Nov 2017

Bank Guarantee made on 25 May 2018

Date of today  26 July 2018

About 8 months waiting so far, still have not received the Acceptance Letter

I was wondering if my application has the longest waiting time.   Apart from making a complaint within centrelink, speaking to AOS phone center supervisor or writing to the minister of human services, is there anything I should do?   The 143 application has been assessed by the case officer, and he said he has reviewed all documents, just waiting for the AOS acceptance letter.

Yes, 8 months could be a record wait for AoS. When did you apply for your visa? (you can also add your visa info to your signature)

I have been on the home affairs website and it states that current processing times are between 49 to 55 months. Would it be safe to put in the application as soon as my daughter has her visa visa through and put the house on the market in about 3 to 4 years or is there a chance it could get processed a lot sooner? In which case I wouldn't have the money

Unfortunately there is little prospect of getting your visas sooner, due to the 'cap' or the total number of people allowed to have a CPV each year. This cap is now set at 7175, but last year they were about 900 places short. And they have now decided the cap is not a cap, just a guide. The government could raise the cap at budget time, but they won't because they have worked out that parent immigrants are very expensive for Australia. And they are now more likely to reduce the cap or increase the cost of a CPV or both. Currently there is an estimated 50k+ applicants in the pipeline.

If you have a look at the main parent visa thread, you will see most of us in the queue have underestimated how long this process would take, and how it is now spiraling into a complete farce. The queue has only moved forward 1 month in the last 5 months. So have no fear about selling your house in time and you will be able to follow others the thread and make a more informed decision in a few years time.

Also it's best not to trust the Home Affairs website, if fact don't trust anything in this process as it all keeps changing and the goalposts move every few months.

    Hi Amber,

I understand people have different needs and some may take longer than others, the Government have been doing this a long time, now granting visas.

I find it very difficult to understand how we can not be able to locate a web site, that gives us a more accurate processing time  for each individual visa.

from what I can see is that it took 5 month to process April 2015 143 visas,

    27/12/17 Processing up to 9th April 2015

    23/02 2018                            9th April 2015

    19/05/2018                         30th April 2015

5 months to process 1 month's worth of applications, so that's 5 years to process a whole year. And that will take us to +7 years to get our visas (or a refund if we die first).

Do bare in mind if you apply now your son is likely to be at crucial part in his education. Queue times for new applicants will be about 5/6 years

Very good point, but the parent visa waiting times are so unpredictable I would not try and plan anything and just take it as it comes. Unfortunately you may find processing times getting considerably longer (10 years plus) so I would get that application in today.

Hi many thanks for you reply. That does make sense.  So that would be in total around 90.000aud or 50.000gbp for 2 adults and 1 child.

Yes, that's about right and it's important to go directly for a 143 visa and lock in the current price. Also get your application in asap as the queue is growing very quickly (now about 6/7 years).

  14. If you apply for a 173 visa, you have the 1st vac payment to make at the time of submitting your application. You then have the loftier 2nd vac to pay when your application is processed and just before your visa is granted.

If you then decided to go for the 143 visa, you basically repeat the process with additional 1st and 2nd vac payments.

There is now a lengthy queue for both visas and it is better to go directly for the 143 visa to avoid future price increases.

Seriously who is going to have to take a “new” test? Those  Who don’t already have to take the IELTS test? Therefore those under 18’s wives of immigrants, parents of immigrants, refugees? What sort of test could possibly  cover everyone. Smacks of discrimination to me. Don’t pass have to leave?

New test centres set up. People needed to be trained to test everyone.  Doubt the cost will be justified, just to send some people home. Set up test centres off shore, in every country?

    Its a nonsense vote catcher.

If you are an Australian and apply for a visa for a future husband or wife (or partner), is there already an English test for this type of visa?

Well said ramot and it is anti-immigration feeling they are stirring up!  (They’re always thinking of themselves and the next election!) We’ve put our working lives into a holding circle..doing a job we now hate but keeping it going for our boss who is glad to have the income coming in (we manage a guest house). He’ll just develop this once we’re gone...but who knows when that will be as the original timeline made it February 2017!  We’re trying to think of alternatives but job security and a steady income are important a we really don’t want to start spending the pot yet!

Yes that's right, life is in a holding circle and it's just far too disruptive in every way. There will be a point when for us it's just not worth it, husband is already talking about not going. What if we wait another two years only to discover there is even more delays, where will it all end?

I can’t bloody believe this. It’s making me so angry, The day I arrived in Oz on a 600 it went way beyond how my daughter and I had it all planned out they are seriously messing about with our lives!

It just keeps getting worse, I am starting to think 5 years plus now for our 173. We are now just waiting for the new visa and plan on going out as soon as.

Just got second vac request. For 143

    Applied 15 may 2015.

How long after sending in the second vac via bank cheque is the visa useually granted ?

    Cheers Kipper99

Congratulations! Normally they grant the visa within a few days from receiving the 2nd vac payment.

Yes that is correct - 173 to 143 visa - that is what I am doing only because I didn't have the funds to do the 143 at the time of submission but it has taken so long I actually managed to save for the whole lot and could have gone straight for 143.  I will be applying for 143 as soon as I activated the 173 visa. Just need to clarify the form to be completed is the 47PT if anyone knows?

Are you going to ask your case officer (when you get one) if you can just go directly for your 143 now? I don't think there is much chance unfortunately, but no harm in asking.
