    Nomination 12th Feb and Visa 25th Feb. No news. There was confusions regarding business sponsorship my MA sorted it out somehow. Some more documents requested by CO for Nomination 20 days back. Now waiting for CO to answer. Hope everything works this time.

    sorry to hear that, so you mean you company is US base but they have business here to get u and your colleague work here?

     

    I can see why immi requires your company to have an office in Australia that your company could send u anytime anywhere in the world. that's what they worry your position when some industry is too "flexible" i think.

     

    Don't know mate. I can understand the requirement for SBS. But for SBS you need to get ACN does not make sense to me. Local office is not the issue, according to MA the issue is company should have ACN to get SBS. The problem with ACN is that my company has to register a local company which will increase their work here. For now everything is managed from US.

     

    What I am understanding from Immi website is for SBS, company should be lawfully running business in AU and should be registered with ASIC. We have proof for all these requirements. But as we are overseas business we have ARBN instead of ACN.

     

    According to case officer mail they just require SBS not local office. But my MA is pushing us that to get SBS my company has to apply for ACN.

     

    According to my HR may be our local accountant is going to talk to case officer or anybody in Immi to understand the issue and will also explain our side of story. Let's see if it is fruitful.

     

    Worst case scenario company is ready to apply 457 again.

    Hello all,

     

    My nomination got stuck in a bit weird issue. The company which I am working is well established business in US with more Than 6k employees worldwide. They are also registered in AU through ASIC and have ABN and ARBN.

     

    Initially company got sponsorship as Overseas Business Sponsor which allows them to hire people on 457 visa but they can not sponsor 186.

     

    Immi had asked my company to get Standard Business Sponsorship and then apply nomination to get my visa approved. My company is ready to apply for SBS but MA says that firstly my company has to open a local office and get ACN from ASIC then only SBS can be applied. Opening a new office here it's actually a big decision and also nature of our business is that we all employees work on client location so there is no local office requirement for us.

     

    What I am understanding from Immi website for SBS my company need to show we are lawfully operating business in AU and have registered name through ASIC which we already have and as a overseas business ASIC had assigned us ARBN. ACN is just for local businesses.

     

    Any comment on this issue will really useful. I am totally lost and now all the hopes are dying.

    Haha, I'd say it's kind of cool. I am quite happy were I work but now I am starting to realise that I am no longer tied up with the company and I must say it is a pretty nice feel ;-)

    I have been here for 6 years so it was about time to do something about it.

    Nomination applied: 20 Jan 16

    Visa applied: 4 Feb 16

    LR Country

    Occupation: University lecturer

    Nomination approved: 18 Aug 16

    Visa granted: 19 Aug 16

    Yes, like u said we can't make any plan, I would say the government will be get more tax of me if they approve my application, because I can't buy house (bought a bloody apartment off the plan which is too small to live in) and I can't do business.....

     

    Same here bro. So many plans but all held up due to visa. We will get through this together it's just matter of time. You have kept your patience for so long now it's few more days for all of us. Sit tight and open your arms good news is in the corner to embrace you.

    I have been work in this company for 6 years, I'm a hard worker, but 6 months already nothing happened, I'm so piss off

     

    Don't worry mate. We all will get our approval soon. I know it's really hard and stressful as I am in the same boat. Future seems in dark as we can't plan ahead. But we can't do much.

     

    Just have faith in yourself and have patience.

    I would say from the 12th. My nomination was lodge in Feb and Visa in April, visa granted yesterday. I can only speak for myself but if you look at similar cases from the flowsheet, it seems that many of us had similar scenarios.

     

    I also want listen to my heart and assume 12th Aug as 6 months mark. Let's see.... Thanks for pumping some positivity in me...

    Hi Everyone

     

    I've been following this forum for a while (since I started preparing my application) and for the last 6 months after my application.

     

    Today my MA told me that nomination is approved, so at the moment waiting for visa approval. CO requested only one more document; another AFP clearance for my partner, the reason is she has another name in her Russian passport (in Cyrillic alphabet), her internation passport does not have that second name; anyway we have to get another one with her second name so hopefully everything will be sorted quickly.

    Congratulations to everyone who got their PR recently and good luck for the ones patiently waiting for it (I know how annoying that waiting game can be)

     

    My Timeline:

     

    HR country , 2 person, 457 - 186 TR, both nomination and visa applications sent on 19.02.2016. Nomination approved 16.08.2016. Documents requested 16.08.2016.
