  1. Dont think to hard about it just get it, also saves arsing about with pr visa etc every few years
  2. I personally am considering heading back to uk simply because of lack of social life / boredom. Even tho I didn't come here to make friends ( I have tons of them in uk ) I didn't foresee that losing all that or not being able to replace them in a small way would impact the decision, so if you have a really good social life this could be an issue but I would still of done it being I was 30 when came to Aus but 8 yrs later it is now an issue but in general it was a good decision to come but probably not forever.

Oaky dokey, I have looked into this in the last few years and been told it can't be done but rules change etc so will re visit this option and see if you I can get dog assessed here and have a set in stone guarantee that there will be no issues or I take a chance and he just Passes thru Heathrow or sadly has to be left here.

Dna tests can be done but i don't think I could trust this because of this " type" word they use, if dog happened to be spotted at Heathrow ( which may not happen ??) it would open a can of worms because dog looks aggro but isn't, ideally I would love to have dog assessed here by an aqis vet or similar who can then inform defra uk that dog is or isn't aggressive but this can't be done to my knowledge, it would make it a lot simpler.

I have contacted defra and got the stock standard that they can't say either way blah blah basically dogs are judged on "appearance" no science involved what a joke you can potentially pay out $$$$ and then be told at Heathrow dog simply looks aggro even tho dog is a softie and what happens then??? The law is so vague. This is why I am hoping some people on here have done it with a terrier type breed and how it went.

Does anyone have any real knowledge of dog checks on the journey to the uk ?? Reason being I am looking at taking dog to uk but he looks bit like an am staff terrier type dog and I am aware that these types are banned in uk simply because they "resemble" pit bulls ( talk about a lazy/vague law) has anyone took a dog through etc apparently some airlines won't even take Staffordshire bull terriers!!!
  9. Regarding super I would see if you could talk to one of those companies that specialises in getting a uk pension into oz they could help doing it the other way or ring around some good accountants and they should be able to help. You haven't lost uk residency, as for renting I don't know,if you could maybe stay with friends for a month or so just to get settled?? Splitting bills will work out good for all ?? Then this will give bit of time to look at renting/buying a place, if you have trouble getting a rental and if you can afford it offering 2 or 3 months in advance may show some good faith. We had similar issues with credit rating, money in bank but no history............... You will get there in the end chin up
  10. Well you have given it time and you still feel the same so get back with a bit of a plan. I personally have made the move back before and just sold all furniture etc, makes it all bit easier I thought, one less thing to organise buy new gear when you get back with what your shipping may cost. Good luck I feel you have made right decision.
  11. By Perth standards job market is slow by uk standards it's good lol depends what your open to doing, freeway still crap but loads of rentals available and cheap
  12. Your situation sounds like ours, except the exchange rate is stuffing us about, but ultimately we will go back. I wouldn't let a pay cut stop me from returning i will earn less in uk but I think the cost of things is lower ( half price cars for a start ) so go for it !!
  13. By the sounds of it you need to get back, I think the wrong decision would be to stay. Just try and go back and live in a decent area etc and be comfortable not sure if you still here but I personally wouldn't go back unless I had at least a bit of money so maybe save like mad and then go but each to their own.
