  1. That's interesting, I too have lived in Perth, WA for 9 years, and quite honestly it has not been the greatest of experiences to which I have encountered, I won't bore you to death, but the job market is totally my worst nightmare (sort of) as it's the most difficult market to get into, even with reputable organisations which I have worked for, it makes no difference at all, and to be honest, I am done n dusted with all the other stuff too, such as quality or there lack of food, and sooo mega expensive here in Perth, unbelievable, and I am done with this Heat - it just isn't me at all, at 38 degrees today, completely over it, perhaps it's an age thing, but you can't do anything with these temperatures and I find myself having to take 4 Cold showers during these temps, I won't even go into the Mozzy thing, that's just an added wind-up...so to say, I know it all sounds a bit negative, but as you said, you either like it here in Australia or you don't and after 9 years I've just had quite enough thanks, I am very much looking forward to returning to the UK (London) and starting again, with my career as now I have 3 different ones, and a business which I will focus on...and really looking forward to just having quality food over there, even a good curry would help....even those country walks looking at the Rivers and Lakes again and experiencing the weather again, this is the third time I have left the UK and I always want to return....It's just totally different here in Australia, not made too many friends, and the ones I have are English, not sure how that one works, I'm already researching what Car I am going to get for when i do return which will be about three months after my contract finishes, (been out of work for five long months) and that'l do it..
  2. Hey bud, I'm no expert, but if your thinking of leaving the UK I would 're-consider' that option, depending if your going to Sydney or Melbourne where the job market is prevalent currently - Perth I would not have this in my options category at all, it is super difficult and I've been here 9 years to date and am in the process of calling it a day here, nice place, especially if you planning a family, but the job market is Rotten here. Been out of work six months (ouch)! and it ain't nice at all, I have just been giving a three month contract and then that's it for me, I will complete it and save every dollar, so when I return I can begin the process of starting again , already picked the Car, BMW series 1 (quality) diesel and will focus on my business as well as getting a regular job to pay the necessaries...It is without a doubt very exciting to travel and consider making a new life in another country, But and there's always a but, do your research (as you already know) and get those applications sent over whilst your in the UK and see how many get back to you, this is a very good indicator of how the job market is, Interviews can always be done on Skype these days, and just let them know your situation about living in Australia. . . You can always apply for jobs in the Government, anywhere, but not Perth, as they have put all roles on Freeze, and then there's selection criteria which has to be answered in Government speak this is very important you get these right, essentially they are an essay or equivalent too. Your other half as a Registered Nurse should be able to find a job without too many issues, again it would be my choice to apply from where you are currently, Nursing is in demand, I know this as I have friends who are nurses and live with one (close friend) not OH...NSW are hiring nurses and Melbourne are currently....If I can help just let me know as I mentioned I am no expert on any of these subjects just passing on experience to ya....p.s. Have moved and lived in three different countries to date and have always returned home to the UK, and will be doing it again in six months unless I get that job at the University then that's all going to change my plans
  3. Hey there, Travel is good for your soul, However, Sydney or Melbourne would be a better choice in accordance with the job market in Perth, WA, been out of work for six months and I'm done n dusted but that's my story, been here 9 years and time to return (sometimes you have to leave your country to appreciate it) I've done that three times now...I would never go to a country (did it once) when I was younger, with no money and that was a Massive Mistake, really take cash with you and don't rely on Lucky be a lady tonight (Frank Sinatra) showing me age a bit there....It's great to be positive and optimistic , but realistic is going to help you more....good luck...
  4. You lucky lucky person, that sounds picture perfect chap, and Richmond is rather stunning, point of fact, it is rated the number 1 spot to live in London, quality and taste Sir. And Berkshire is where a lot of Royalty are from , Sir you do have quality taste, don't lose it and as for the cottage this is just getting better and better and a Sunday Roast, crikey I really can't wait to return the land of splendor any month now...just saving a little more for that rather nice quality Audi A5 or 6 or BMW series 3 or Z4 as per advised by Top Gear - that I have my eyes on, if that makes perfect sense and yes I will be driving and using not petrol but Diesel mpg and all that....next thing you'll be doing is heading off soon to mark n' sparks just quality ....One quick question if I may, did you purchase a one-way or a return as I too will fly high with Qatar ...
  5. Not forgetting the Hyundai Coupe 2.00 litre (this is a little expensive to run) unless you go for the 1600 engine.
  6. Yes I completely agree, except for me personally, I feel the need to have something to look forward to when I go back, the Audi A5 on Diesel 45.6 mpg (urban) which is pretty amazing all considering, I also like the VW Golf nice car quality made..
  7. Check this out, you might change your mind about the affordability bit...: Audi A5 3.0 sports....pure quality http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201602201224192?make=audi&search-target=usedcars&sort=default&radius=1500&page=1&postcode=SE3%209HL&model=a5&searchcontext=default&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&logcode=p
  8. Well I've been fortunate to have lived in 4 different countries and traveled the world, I have spent 9 years giving it my best shot here in Perth, and I for one am in no way a person who would call it quits over a slight hurdle in life, I get on with it, but when you know the economy is up the swanny and your not enjoying where you are living sometimes in life it's good to know when to call it a day. (that's just my perception of it currently) I think it is all about a number of issues, the Economy, the Employment status, the cost of living ect ect ect.
  9. Very true, then you find a car that is affordable but still a high powered Vehicle...BMW series 1 is pretty economical and then you also ensure you buy a Diesel high powered car like the Audi A4 sports...nice
  10. Just also tell your husband the CARS he can have when you go back to the UK, BMW's, Audi's Jag's the list goes on, even if you take a pay cut, go and treat yourselves to a Top Quality Car which is totally affordable, I know I should be in sales right.: )) LOL (not forgetting marks n spencers) wright...: )) this means your will be travelling around the UK in style...
  11. I'm no expert on this area of interest, however, like back in the UK, it depends how much of your lease there is to go, if it equates to the 3,000 bond money then really if you were to up and leave, they would just keep your deposit, regarding your front door, spray some WD 40 in the area of the door ie latches and bolts ect ect ect this will help it I am sure it will. The Rental market is nuts everyone is leaving as far as I know, myself included I am just getting things in order so to speak and will just finish up a 3 month contract then I'm done. I too am unable to afford to live here any longer x 9 years too many. The job market is an absolute nightmare here, and that's it for me, already researching which Car to buy back in the UK they are totally cheap and spoilt for choice, have my eyes on a BMW series 1 or an Audi S3 Quality just Quality..Just one more thing, of course your contract is also legally binding, you must consider the legal implications, but if the time left = the 3,000 dollars happy days....The alternative is not to pay your rent, then the owners will request that you leave within a two week period, there are always options and alternatives...Do you like that last one...I Do : )) happy days...and your right about the agencys they are Clue less...and that's a compliment...
  12. Yes but just think how much more advanced the UK is currently, or come to think of it Europe as a whole, we are the number one country in the world for Advancement, where as some countries ahem! are still living in the past by 30 years (don't get me wrong the UK has still got some work to do on certain issues)
  13. I hear what you are saying, and your right I should just go right away, don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's much better back in London, I just know the job market is more real in the process, and the likelihood of getting one is much higher than Perth, in Perth there are no jobs at all and it's as simple as that, It does not matter which country you live in, if your unemployed for a long period of time then it's time to move on which is exactly what I am doing, and of course looking forward to seeing the English Countryside again, and visiting all the UK Cornwall, Devon, Wiltshire, the Lake District, Cotswolds ect and of course the food...nice! I will only be working in London, I plan to live in the country...
  14. I did and that was for one the big Oil companies...am happy to go back to London so it's all good, and i'll be even happier when I land a role back in London as before and will get into my new business venture...so all good I don't like it here that's why I'm leaving and really happy about it...so God Bless
  15. Hey Very Stormy ( Wait for me ) ....I wish you well in your new job back in the UK matey..! all the best I'll keep you updated as to how things turn out for me when I arrive back which will be very soon...just landed a small contract which I will now complete and then I am able to get that darn Car I want....Yes you know it makes sense yes the Audi S3 or BMW series 1 ...or the Audie A4 nice!
