1. What a lovely day and news to wake up to - my 457 got approved today!
2. Sydney applications seem to be quite quick at the moment!
3. Seriously this system of theirs makes no sense whatsoever. Congrats, and I'm glad to see they're still processing 457, if not somewhat in a bizarre order.
4. It can vary based on a number of things - you can look back in this thread and others like it and find some people getting it within weeks, some a month, and for some unfortunately longer than a few months. Having kept an eye on others getting theirs whilst I wait for mine, if the sponsor and nomination has already been approved and if you're a single applicant from a low-risk country with all your paperwork in order, it seems to be about a month at the moment. The more complex the application is (high-risk country, additional people on the application, lack of documents/evidence etc) then it would make sense for it to be longer as they have to do a lot more checks.
5. I never had any blood taken. Just pee in a cup, chest-xray, then like a general checkup - eye test, weight/height, checked eyes/ears, listened to my chest etc.
6. Pretty sure with Christmas it will be very quiet until the New Year now
7. They may do, but I presume they still have a finite number of workers, so they'd still have two piles to work through (so even if they split their workforce, that means there's less people looking at one pile, so nothing quicker in the long run). Who knows though, it may not have affected their workload. For all we know it may speed things up, e.g. they take a quick look and click a button "require medical" and move onto the next application. Until someone reports on here they got approved we can't tell.
8. 457 had an exclusion for medical examination (previously just x-ray), but that got removed on Nov 20th, so many many more people (from those not listed in the approved countries) will now have to submit medical examinations. So it won't affect your application itself, but I'm assuming those applications in front of you now need more work and scrutiny, hence may cause delays.
9. Likewise. Normally looking at recent processing times I'd expect yours to be any day this week, or early next week, but due to a) changes to medical requirements 20th Nov and b) Christmas, I'm thinking the process will be a little longer and then run into the holidays
10. It's cool - here's where you do it and what you need for anyone else wondering:
11. That's not true, my agent did it. I created an ImmiAccount, gave him my username, and it was then listed in my application list. I didn't do anything with a TRN. There is an action called 'share' that when you click on brings up a window where you enter the email/username of the intended recipient.
12.

Yeah that is literally it - there's a "share" action which asks for the username/email of the account your want to share the application with, and once done you'll see it in the list when you log in. All sections of it are visible - status, correspondence/mailbox, attaching documents, and health assessments.

13.

Hi Kindred, thanks again for the advice about setting up an account. So basically, is that all I have to do? Set up an account, then provide the person who lodged my application (Our HR person in AU) my username, and then she can, on her end, arrange for me to be able to see my application processing status? Sorry, I'm new to this whole process so pardon my ignorance.
