1. wow congratulations to you and your partner! happy days!
2. oh are you claiming points for work experience? then they might be doing some employment verification that's why it's taking some time. on my application i didn't claim any points for work experience that's why im puzzled why it's taking this long to get even an update..
3. Ohh okay. Now on the 189 visa application where you are the main applicant, you're no longer claiming any points for his qualification? hopefully everything goes smoothly from here. I applied on August 2015 and no news since CO contact last October 2.
4. hi agm, could you share why your husband's visa application was refused?..
5. aww sorry about that. it might not be any consolation at all, but i've read of people waiting since applying in May of last year. I've actually resigned my self to think that I might be one of those undergoing external checks so it will probably take a few more months for me I also have plan B and C incase we don't get this PR grant for whatever reason. Helps me be less anxious. Life can't be put on hold for a visa, so I'm just gonna take it one day at a time.

7. hi guys, it's my first time to reply to this thread. Also waiting for the golden email like you guys. If it's fine with you, let's make a tracker of everyone who is still waiting to hear from DIBP so we could see any pattern and at the very least comfort each other while waiting. So far this this is the list of people I've had a chat with who are still waiting: Username/Date Applied/Date of CO contact/Date when documents were submitted/GRANT DATE kkwaiting - April 2015 binoyski - July 22, 2015 RK9999 - August 4, 2015 Adele - August 5, 2015 Umair Rafiq - August 14, 2015 Perthling - August 17, 2015/ October 2 (Form 80, 1221, medical for husband)/ October 22/ no grant yet Mobari - August 26, 2015 Saacor - September 22, 2015 Feel free to add or edit if I got any information wrong. For anyone else not on the list feel free to add your details. May the grants rain on us soon!
8. There's quite a few people still waiting. From this forum alone, I've had a quick chat with a few people who are still waiting. Enclosed dates are when they applied. kkwaiting - April 2015 binoyski - July 22, 2015 RK9999 - August 4, 2015 Adele - August 5, 2015 Umair Rafiq - August 14, 2015 Perthling - August 17, 2015 Mobari - August 26, 2015 Feel free to edit if I got the dates wrong..
9. oh thats good news for you hopefully before the month ends you have the golden email i actually wished we hired a MARA agent, they provide great value when the case isnt straightforward when work experience has to be verified etc. anyway it will all be worth it once you get that grant. things will eventually fall into place at the right time, not a day earlier or later. Good luck to you and your husband!
10. I sort of sang that line in my head while i was reading it ) You're definitely not alone. Many others in are still waiting, some people since May last year. You could send an email at gsm.allocated@border.gov.au. Just keep your TRN and passport details ready so the processing officer that picks up can look up your file easily. good luck
11. Hi guys, im kind of in the same boat. well my husband who is the secondary applicant in our visa application has some minor offences. the most serious one for battery where he received the following punishment. Could anyone sya if this means 8 weeks suspended imprisonment over 2 years supervision or is it a 2 year suspended imprisonment? "suspended imprisonment 8 weeks wholly suspended 24 months consecutive supervision requirement unpaid work requirement 150 hours program requirement 27 days integrated domestic abuse" we applied on august 17 and submitted my husband's australian and uk acro clearance certificate within that week. case officer asked for husband's medicals, form 80 and 1221 on october 2. no more news after that. we've submitted a document detailing each offence and my husband's perspective on them and how he has turned his life around since. last offence in the uk was 2010. we have collected character references but not sure yet if we should upload or wait for the case officer. to be honest i thought if they had a problem with my husband's convictiobs they would have told us early on as we submitted his pccs from the very start..no update if our case has been passed to VACCU or to the minister..
12.

hi peach, thank you for replying to my concern about my husband's convictions. May i ask how long your partner visa took? And what year did you apply for it? thanks

13. Hmm..okay. Just to share, I actually filled out Form 1023 notice of incorrect answers last week when i realized that I didn't list all my hisband's convictions in the visa online application. At firdt i thought it wasnt a big deal since i wrote all convictions in Form 80, but when I realized incomplete answers in the online application could impact the result i filled out form 1023. Now for the non declaration of past convictions I am still insure how to proceed. I've reached out to a few migration agents and I've actually emailed my case office last night about it as well. hoping to receive some good advice..
14. hi peach, thank you for your reply. I'm happy to hear that someone with a similar case has recieved a positive outcome. You're talking about the incoming passenger card right? How about in the visa applicationbe able to get in the country, did you not declare your convictions there as well? Lastly did you declare you convictions in your partner visa application? Thank you so much for your input.
15. thank you CaptainC I am getting in touch with Russell and another migration agent now
16.

[PART3] But when his UK police clearance came i made sure all crimes were listed on his FORM 80 including the drink driving. Now another thing of concern (which CaptainC and a few other people are saying that are more serious) is the fact my husband didn't declare his previous convictions in his First and Second Holiday Visa application in October 2013 and October 2014. The migration agent that helped him out to process his WHV application said his convictions are not serious and do not need to be declared. This is an honest mistake on my husband's part and I am just really hoping we could rectify it. We will be willing to withdraw our visa application and start from scratch because we don't want to be banned from Australia as we have friends and family there. Please advice. We will be grateful for your help and it will be duly compensated. Thank you.

17.

[PART2] Til now no real update from the case officers on our visa application. My husband called DIBP once, and I email once and all they replied was it is undergoing processing if we need more documents we will let you know. Now I am panicking what is causing the delay. Some people have pointed out that my husbands convictions that are causing the additional scrutiny in our application. He had convictions/reprimands/cautions/warning for battery, damage to property, sending false massage that caused anxiety and drink driving in his early 20's. I have declared the battery and damage to property in the online visa application, and listed all convictions in his FORM 80. When I was filling out the online visa application my husband's UK police clearance hasn't come through so I listed only the crimes he told me which were battery and damage to property. I didn't declare his drink driving because i thought traffic convictions are not serious offence.

18.

[PART1] Hi Russell, you have been recommended by CaptainC from PomsinOz.com. I was wondering if you could help me out on this. I got an Invitation to apply for a Skilled Independent Visa 189 last June 2015. Occupation is Materials Engineer 233112. I applied last August 17 with my husband as my secondary applicant. I am a Philippine passport holder while my husband is a British Citizen. We have uploaded my Engineers Australia Accreditation, IELTS (band 8 in all), degree certificate, transcripts, resume and other documents of proof of relationship. I also filled out Form 80 and Form 1221 for myself. I submitted a Filipino and Australian police clearance while my husband submitted an Australian and UK police clearance. On October 2, our case officer asked for medical, Form 80 and Form 1221 for my husband. These documents have been submitted on October 22. I am currently in the Philippines while my husband is in Australia on a bridging visa working to support the both of us.

19. should I withdraw the application ASAP? I emailed my CO a week ago and they still haven't replied. I don't know how to rectify this I was hoping that the CO can atleast tell me the situation and advice for me to withdraw first rather than bluntly just reject us because we've done all the right things for this visa application
20. Congrats Falcon!! What a way to end 2015! Hope you have a wonderful 2016 in Australia, do update us when you can
21. *sigh*..can't help but think this is another delaying strategy. but it's a good sign I suppose at least you know they haven't forgotten your application Send the info to both skill select and CO's email. Hoping that they don't take another 4-8 weeks before looking at your file again. Good luck!
22. Hi Verystormy, Thank you for your reply. The problem is I don't know where to start. We uploaded my husband's UK PCC/ACRO a week after lodging visa application, a month and a half before CO contacted us. When CO finally contacted us on October 2 he/she asked Form 80 and 1221 for my husband. Now almost two months later, no reply from them or request for additional documents. I don't know if I should take this as a sign that they are okay with my husband's convictions or not. And if not, where do i start rectifying this? I am over here in the Philippines waiting for the grant while my husband remains in Australia working. I'm kind of hoping we are just waiting for the grant no documents needed. Also fear that submitting anything the CO didn't ask for will just further delay our wait..
23. I applied for a 189 PR visa last August 17 and still no update. I am worried that my husband's convictions are causing the delay. He had a few battery and damage to property charges from his teenage years to his early twenties in England. No prison time just fines and one community service but still it worries me. Specially because when I was filling up the visa online application I didn't know the full extend of his charges so I just but battery and damage to property. But when we received his UP PCC/ACRO we listed all his convictions in FORM 80 and submitted the UK PCC as well. AND another major concern is he told me when he applied for his 1st WHV to Australia two years ago, he didn't declare his convictions because the migration agent that was helping him advised him not to do so because they are not significant convictions. I don't know how much this thing he did two years ago will affect our visa application now. He wasn't completely honest then, but I hope being honest now will pay off. Hope you could share your experience/thoughts on this. Thank you
24. its sad that we're left to wait.. unfortunately these visa officers' performances are evaluated on their capability to deliver on their SLA of 3 months. I'm assuming that's why they are more inclined to work on October and more recent applicants so they achieve their target for this month/quarter. 115 days since visa application 49 days since request complete
