Hi everyone. I'm totally new to this as in I've never posted anything anywhere ever before so please bear with me. I came across this forum by chance a few weeks ago and have spent hours reading and catching up with everyone's progress. We are in the same position as many of you - we have completed all our paperwork and checks and are now waiting in limbo. We were wondering whether we are safe to assume by now that we will eventually get the visa and that we would have heard by now if they intended to turn us down for any reason. I would like to get the house on the market now and be as ready as possible when we finally hear something but my husband is a bit more cautious and thinks we should wait till we know for definite and then set about trying to sell up. I would be interested to hear anyone else's views
Hi
We finally got our visa on the 2nd June and have been trying to organise our move since . House up for sale July and an offer accepted in the first week but still waiting for contracts to be signed . Once this happens we will be choosing our shippers , we have had five quotes and they vary quite a lot on price . The big problem at the moment are the border restrictions on entering Australia .The caps are causing big problems to the airlines and prices have increased dramatically that’s if you can actually get a flight , some people have been bumped off up to 13 flights and stuck in various countries around the world , we have had one flight cancelled so far . If you finally get to Australia you will have to quarantine in a hotel room for 14 days at your cost (3500$ for 2 ) .
Not many overseas visas have been issued this year due to the virus we were one of the lucky people but actually making the move is very stressful -

No, I don't have a Migration agent on this. I tried a couple of ones, but they told that they could not do too much about it.
You needed the agent before you did the switch no one is going to offer much free advice after the event

I take it you did not have a migration agent on this .

Yes that's right, I read that recently! We will have to watch and make sure bikes are carried to the container!!
I went to our local bike shop and picked up three bike boxes for free . You can pack your bike clean and use the space around for other stuff.

Does anyone have any information about Cathay Pacific flights Hong Kong to Perth?
Not directly but if you search Perth airport arrivals I have not seen any landings so far for Cathay Pacific .

Same as the 143 - the required initial entry date is 12 months from the earlier of the date of medical examination and the police clearance certificate.
This said the required initial entry date is being policed in a relaxed manner presently due to the COVID border restrictions.
Best regards.
Hi Alan is that correct our 143 visa states initial entry one year from grant date 02/06/2020 entry by 02/06/2021 am I missing some other regulation about medical/police certificate ?

You apply on line and need it before you travel to WA https://www.wa.gov.au/government/publications/g2g-pass-travel-exemptions-frequently-asked-questions Because the WA borders are closed you can only enter with this travel exemption at the moment. You still need it if you are PR and travelling from interstate/overseas
Is this correct as when I go through the g2g application no where does it mention PR visa only a list of exemptions for travelling to Wa that relate to reasons to enter . Citizens and PR are not listed and most of the questions relate to people residing in Australia not moving for the first time

Due to fly out on 02 September and it was cancelled 2 weeks ago. Yes, it is possible that the BA one will also be cancelled. As you say Aussiebird, it is scandalous the way some airlines are cancelling flights and then re-instating them days later at inflated prices. With Perth allowing only 575 passenger arrivals each week, they cannot all be flying in. The Qatar A380 from Doha into Perth can seat 517, although perhaps that are separating passengers. There is limited information in this regard. Nightmare.
Read the other day that there was only one person in the economy section of a Qatar flight to Perth everyone else was business/first class.

Hi,
How do you know Singapore airlines are not flying to Perth? I have recently booked our flights and they didnt tell me there are no flights from Singapore to Perth, if that's the case, why aren't we being told this information when we book? I had an email to say Scoot are flying Singapore to Perth, so maybe we would get the flight changed to Scoot?
God this is such a headache!!
Look at the flight arrivals daily for PerthAirport seems to be one a day from scoot for 4 days of the week. Scoot are a subsidiary of SingaporeAir but they are not mentioned in the flight details on the Uk to Perth Singapore flights , maybe they are code sharing and the flight numbers are different . I would certainly be asking the question

I would suggest going through a Travel Agent to sort out your flights. At least if they are cancelled and need re-booking, you have someone to deal with it and find you alternative flights at the best price. After two cancelled flights - one with QANTAS and the other with Singapore Airlines, we have scored a BA flight from Scotland to Perth for under £700 one way, and the flight times are good. We used Blixen Travel - Travel Experts (Gorebridge) and they have been incredible.
You also need to consider the cost of mandatory hotel quarantine on arrival in Perth - AUD$2520 single and AUD$3360 double for the 14 days. And you pay exactly the same whether you score a 5* hotel or get dumped in a 2* one.

Hi , yes have seen many low fares such as yours but I wonder if you will actually get on the flight booked as I dont think Singapore airlines are flying into Perth at the moment only Scoot . When are you travelling?

You may already know that you need the G2G pass to travel to Perth - it's difficult to say about flights until the premier decides to open the boarders to international travelers fully. At the moment numbers are restricted to 525 passengers per week for WA.
Thanks what’s a G2G pass and where do you get it . Do you need it if you are PR?

We are getting close to finalising our affairs in the UK and booking flights to Perth . Does anyone have any current experience with the situation regarding airlines and classes of travel . It seem that Qatar are bumping off economy in favour of business class , the fares on their website are in excess of £2000 pp for economy and £5000 for business does anyone know if you book business you are guaranteed a seat . Emirates according to their website are due to resume flights on 23/10/2020 , is that likely and will they share the weekly government arrival limits with Qatar?.

The number of people arriving into WA recently has actually been been well under the 525 limit per week.
Where did you get that info from?

I know WA has a travel embargo of 525 arrivals per week by air , what happens if you arrive by cruise , can you enter this way on PR.
-
We had ours granted 2nd June
-
We are no hurry as we have a house/car swop arranged for September and they have not cancelled yet. , although we won’t be using their house in Perth we will go away in our motorhome if they come .

My understanding is that no one is being asked for the 2nd instalment as theIr visas are not being issued in the current pandemic. Therefore, people are getting to the end and then it’s all frozen until they start releasing visas again. Only then will they take people’s 2nd instalment. Makes sense, they may not grant visas for the next 12 months so unlikely to take money off people now.
This is not the case we paid second VAC on 23rd March and are still waiting .

We applied through an agent and information from IMMI is routed to them first , so no idea if they send receipts

Hi
If you take a queue date of 24/08/2015 the figures are as follows
Update Queue Total Processed
18/06/16 4340
28/07/16 4310 30
18/08/16 4280 30
10/10/16 4240 40
10/11/16 4210 30
08/02/17 4160 50
16/03/17 4140 20
01/06/17 4090 50
10/01/18 4000 90
28/03/18 3990 10
03/08/18 3950 40
10/01/19 3940 10
14/02/19 3920 20
16/04/19 3900 20
14/06/19 3830 70
08/07/19 3810 20
20/08/19 3730 80
06/09/19 3720 10
25/10/19 3640 80
21/11/19 3620 20
21/02/20 1060
07/04/20 1050
so they have processed 740 applications/visas from 18/06/16 to 21/11/19 about 200 per year . As you can see the figures posted for 2020 were obviously wrong and now the queue dates for 103/804 are amalgamated it is not possible to isolate one queue from the other
