  1. Hi can anybody recommend a good car hire company in Perth? Thanks ?
  2. True but when we looked to move to OZ obviously the rates were different and to me personally it makes a big difference as to where we live and what we can afford. It's a hell of a long way to go to be worse off than before. Houses are not cheap and standard of living is expensive but this is just my opinion ?
  3. Hi we are in the same boat as you, house sale currently going through but the dollar rate being as low as 1.71 from like you said 2.18 makes a massive difference to what we could of bought a couple of months ago to now. We are hoping to rent for a bit and hopefully give the market time to stabilise before we are in a position to buy. Let's keep our fingers crossed x
  4. Hi we are emigrating to Perth late August, extremely worried regarding recent events as the money for our home in Uk will finance our new property in Perth, what are people's views on exchange rates. Wondering if to change small amount just what we need initially then move the rest later. Scared how long this Leave vote will affect pound/ AUD!
  5. We are moving in August 2 kids 10 and 7 and we have never been before! We have just decided we are GOING to make it work I am lucky enough to have a friend out there so will have someone to shows me round xx
  6. Finding this feed really helpful, Thanks! We have had PSS quote so far and have John Mason coming this week. We to need a 20ft container. We were told we currently are slightly over so are now looking at what we may leave.
  7. Hi All Just wanted to let you know we got our Visa Granted today! It has been just under 11 weeks from actually applying for the Visa on 22nd Jan and being granted today!! Our Medicals were carried out 15th Feb and Police checks done about a week before that. IELTS was done in October and positive skills assessment was done in the November. We were not asked to complete the form 180. We are a family of 4 Wife, hubby and 2 kids 10 + 7 and are making the move to Perth in August. We also put our house up on Saturday and that has sold too. A very happy slightly fuzzy headed lady ( too much Prosecco) Good Luck to all those still waiting and I'm sure it will be your turn soon xxxx
  8. Thanks for this info! Driving myself a bit mad at the moment waiting for Visa to be granted. We are going through a agent and our initial application went in 22nd Jan. Police checks and medicals were uploaded mid Feb now it's just a waiting game. Hoping everyday for that phone call to say we're granted.
  9. I do think we have limited options but my hubby is determined so we are trying our best. My job falls under process or project administrator. My main role is schedule planning but I didn't mention my role as I know many others could do the same role. My hubby has 10 yrs experience as a PB but came off the shop floor to do his current role. We have seen an immigration Company at a recent Expo we attended and they have advised 12 months recent experience would be ok. We are kinda hoping that his current role may come up on the CSOL in July but that would be far to easy lol. Thanks for replying
  10. Hi All Would appreciate any advice you guys could give!! We decided in January we wanted to move to Australia, preferably Perth or Brisbane. My job is on the CSOL list but currently no states require it. My hubby is a Estimator/assistant manager in the Motor Industry But his job is not on the CSOL. He used to be a Panelbeater which is on the CSOL but he would need 12 months recent experience to get a Visa. He is considering retraining for 12 Months so we can get a Visa. Just wondered if you knew if there is a demand for his main job as Estimator ( think also know as Crash repair valuer). We are waiting for 1st July to see if this job appears on the CSOL but need a backup plan. Thanks
