  1. So I did my resit on Thursday it only lasted 15 min.

I was asked the colour wheel and that was it on colour.

I was asked how would I do a chemical straightening service? I just rhymed off what I had studied.

Then I was asked why would you not preform this service on a client?

What size section would you take?

Is it ok to use a ghd on the hair or would you use a different brand?

Can you clip the hair up after this service?

If a client has no definite parting where would you part the hair during this process?

    Hope this helps someone.

  2. Hi!! I don't think you should choose your career based on what is going to get you into Australia in 6 years time, it really is impossible to predict what is going to happen to the sol list.

Have you ever been to oz?

If you dont know what you want to do career wise would you not take a year out and go on a WHV you can extend it for a second year, this will give you time to see the country and really think about what you want.

You could also do your studies in oz it is expensive depending what you are studying and the length of the course but there are other option I don't think you need to be putting too much pressure on yourself.

Even if you stay where you are and get your qualification you can still get a WHV up to the age of 30.

  3. I did a full silent video. Then I edited it using free software called audacity!! I made my clips into about 3-7 minutes depending what I was demonstrating. I edited it that it was the full video in fast fwd and slowed it down when showing detail. I also added a voice over explaining what I was doing. If you YouTube how to use the software it will teach you. It was very time consuming and maybe there is a simpler way but that's what I did.

  4. Hi kirsty welcome. I would recommend getting an assessment from an agent and at least you will know what visa you will be eligible for. Visafirst gave me a free assesment recently. Be sure to get a regestered agent if using one because you don't want to get screwed.

I qualify for a 190 or 489 visa. You need to prove a min of 2 years experience and 5 years for other states. And that is to live in regional areas. Have you gone onto immi.gov.au and done and research.

  5. Ye it is hard to prove de fecto. We set up a joint bank account about 4 years ago. And we were renting at the time but We are living with my parents now to save for oz so we have no recent bills in our name.

Ye it is $50,000 for NT for us. We don't have it but my family have said they can put money into my bank to prove funds, I'm just not sure if this will work because I will be taking the money back out once I have statement.

Because of my vetassess delay though I'm not gonna get to submit eoi before July 1st so im hoping SA will be back on the list. They don't require any prof of funds and that's were we wanna go.

  6. Ye and I think when your put under pressure in an exam situation it makes it worse. At least if you start revising now you should be good for the interview :-)

good luck making your video's it is quiet time consuming and get someone to help you. I had my sister behind the camera to zoom in for detail. The first tint I videoed by myself it was just my back in the video I hadent fully thought it through so I had to get another model!! Good luck!

Is the medulla present in all hair types?

What are the three sections of the hair if the hair was split in half?

Name the 3 stages of the hair growth?

What way would you hold your fingers when cutting a graduated bob?

How would you section and apply a high lift to Virgin hair?

How can you tell when a perm is ready to be neutralised?

Name 3 hazards in the salon and explain how you would fix it?

How do you know when to neutralise a chemical straightening?

  8. Hi edel I didn't put in video for upstyle but I sent pictures from my portfolio I probably should had because then I might not of been asked to explain french roll.

My advice with the videos would be to put as many in as you can because the more areas you cover in you videos the less questions you will be asked in the interview.

I found it hard to explain graduated bob even though I cut them all the time. He asked me what way I would hold my fingers nothing about angles I said I would hold my 2 cutting fingers upwards, and he couldn't understand this he wanted me to change my answer because he kept saying why and would it not be a better position to point fingers downwards. I didn't change my answer and he just said Mmm and let's move on. In my college book it shows pics of demo and the fingers are pointed upwards. So I feel I answered this right.

Ye i would deffo brush up I will put up a few more of the questions I was asked that I can remember.

  9. Hi edel welcome.

Do you have your videos made for the first stage?

Vicki has kinda covered everything else!

I would say look over your book from college if you still have it.

I was also asked questions about how I would section a graduated bob and how I would hold my fingers while cutting!!

How I would pin up a french roll.

They sound straight forward but I found when not having a head in front of me it was harder to explain it.

  10. Yes please let me know how you get on! Fingers are crossed that NT and QLD keep on the csol until were ready to apply!

I heard back form vetassess. I can get my interview assessed for free and I will find out where I went wrong. This will take 2 weeks. Then I can resit the interview only been asked the questions that I have failed. So at least I will know exactly what to expect. And the fee is $800 which is good I was expecting full price.. feeling positive:-)
