  1. Are there any organized meet ups? Also living in Melbourne and would be keen to catch up with anyone in the area
  2. Hi, do you mean that you paid for additional baggage? or did having the PR VISA somehow mean that the airlines let you carry more?
  3. Hi there, It depends on how many points you can claim from other things: age, English language ability. Have you submitted your EOI into skillselect already?
  4. Thanks for the advice. Has anyone else uploaded docs with spaces in the name? or am I just a dumbass? And if so, did you get asked to provide them to a co? My concern is that they may not be able to even open the files, in which case it will surely delay my application if the request I upload again / email them...
  5. Thanks. I have uploaded all that stuff. my only concern is that in my excitement to get stuff uploaded, I didnt read the instructions properly and so a couple of my files (degree certificates and transcripts) have been uploaded with a filename containing spaces, which I saw later is a no no. I am now debating whether to upload them again with acsuitable filename, or just wait and hope they are accepted. I just don't want to waste time getting a co assigned just for that... Any thoughts? Thanks!
  6. Congrats! So exciting. Hopefully ours won't be too long now. we seem to be in a similar situation - - accountant general - 65 points - lodged 31st march Our fingers are crossed for a direct grant. Front loaded everything that seems mandatory, can I ask you which documents you provided?
  7. Congrats! Mine was similar. Really thought I had screwed up the speaking test, so am just so relieved to have that bit over & done with. We were really hoping to be there by Oct / Nov this year, but I guess it depends on how long the whole process takes. I have read online that from being invited to apply for the VISA to being accepted can take 10 months, but a guy at a seminar at the weekend said it could be as little as 5, so there is still hope. We are looking to move to Melbourne. How about you?
  8. Good luck with your results. These are online now...just got mine. Phew, so relieved! I am in the same position and about to send of for my CPA skills assessment. I was also confused about the best order to do things in. I now know I need a skills assessment, which i can get for free if I also convert CIMA to CPA, but what I can't figure out is if that will be the cheapest way to do it. By the time the VISA is processed / accepted etc, I could have paid almost a years subscription fees for nothing if i convert to CPA now. What do you think?
