  1. Ahhh I see. Well I am sure you will be okay then. I got confused and assumed you were on the same visa as I am going for. It's been 9 weeks since we sent our application...initial application that is....our visa application has been sitting waiting for the last 3 months!!! Frustrating and testing my patience.
  2. Yes my agent said all members on the visa must live in the region for the full two years and one has to hold down a job for 12months in those 2 years. Thank you very much ozpete. I wish you every success in switching over to the 887 visa. I. Tearing my hair out waiting to hear whether I can send our visa application off. We've been invited to apply but it's taking up to 12 weeks now to hear back from the initial application. Which region did you apply for? Hope you have enjoyed your time in aus so far!
  3. I'm applying for a 489 and my agent advised it doesn't matter if it is the principal application who holds down the 12months job or the partner. I'd be interested to know these answers too even though it is a long way off before I am (hopefully) granted a 489
  4. Striker. Even though I was invited to apply in less than 24hours, it is now week 6 since I sent my initial application and looking like another 5-6 weeks before I'll hear back as to whether I can send my visa application off. Seems the whole immigration movement has slowed right down
  5. Hi again, I have 75 points. And yes you seem to have followed the exact same steps and in the same order as I have. I have applied for regional in new south Wales. Our application went in the week before last. This was for 770 AUD. Just waiting for a reply and then can send our visa application. We waited until we were invited to apply before sending off our online application though. Hopefully you will hear soon
  6. No idea how it came so fast. But yes it's true. I've gone for 489 too for mid north coast. Sent off my application but cannot send visa application until it has been approved. My agent seems optimistic though. Spent too much money for it to go down the pan. You still not heard anything?
  7. You need a positive skills assessment before applying for visa but Ahpra can be applied to once visa granted and can take about 4-5months. That was my understanding. I haven't applied to Ahpra yet. My agent hasn't advised it.
  8. All states are different. What do you mean by SS SA? State sponsorship southern australia? I thought 489 is regional sponsorship? I am guessing all states are different in how long it takes to get back. It'll depend on how many in your profession apply at the same time as they invite on points...those with higher points are invited first. That's what I was told? But could be wrong. Hope you hear from them soon. Good luck
  9. When do you need to apply to Ahpra? Along with the visa? I thought Ahpra would only allow you to join them once the visa was already granted?
  10. I'm going for the 489 though and got an invite the next day?
  11. I don't know? Maybe I'm getting confused. I expressed my interest on Monday for regional sponsorship and had a reply the following day asking for my R form etc etc. Is it only after this is received that I get an invite? I'm sure I read in my email that I had been invited to apply by the region. Maybe I read it wrong
  12. My EOI went in on Monday and I received an invitation the following day. Eeeeek.
  13. I'm with emigration group And cannot praise them enough. I was originally going for the golden ticket to live and work anywhere as a skilled migrant. That was until my career was taken off the list. Then I was going towards a 190 but then NSW took my career off the ist. Now Im settling for 489 regional sponsorship. All the while the emigration group have been amazing throughout and so supportive
  14. When are the other states likely to update theirs???
  15. Hy everyone, so my partner and I are applying for state sponsorship visa after my job was taken off the SOL on 1st July. We are devastated that it is getting harder for us to get into Aus and are desperate to get out of the UK. What are the rules on applying for a New Zealand working holiday visa whilst the 190 is being processed? Can we go down this route? Or will it complicate the whole process? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  16. Dentists removed :cry::cry::cry::cry:
  17. I'll be looking for a job once I get there. We are hoping to do 6-8 months travelling the world from the UK through South aAmerica, south east Asia, thailand, Vietnam New Zealand. Will probably try to get a Skype interview before arriving in Australia once I'm on the same time zone :-) I still have a long way to go. Just waiting on my skills assessment. Passed my IELTS. Once I get a reply for skills assessment then I will be expressing my interest.
  18. Thanks Naomi. We decided to go with an agent in the end. Mainly for piece of mind.
  19. Hey, thanks donaldo I sent off the paper work for skills assessment 4 weeks ago and had an email from the Australian dental council 2 weeks ago to say it will take up to 8 weeks before we hear anything. Fingers crossed they don't need additional information. Hopefully we can express our interest in the next 5 weeks. It's a shame it takes us into July. I have heard dentists may be taken off the skills list this time around :-( would just be my luck. I've passed my IELTS so it is just a case of waiting now.
  20. I had to be there for registration at 8.15 in Manchester last entry 8.45 so I assumeit will be similar? Good luck :-D
  21. YESSSSSSS just checked. 9 in reading 9 in listening 9 in writing, 8.5 in speaking. Over the moon.
  22. And in answer yes I will lose my 150 if I pass. I wanted to get it out the way though. Fingers crossed I don't have to do it again
  23. I wasn't aware you could get the results yet. I was told I would receive them in the post 13 working days afterwards. I'll check the website
  24. I sat my IELTS test to get more points for my visa. I currently have 45 but if I score 8 in all four categories of the IELTS I get an extra 20points making it to 65 (I need 60 to apply for a 189)
  25. Mine was General too about science. I think I started talking too scientifically that I completely missed the point of the question. Arghhhh. I've booked again for end may just in case I fail. I'm hoping I don't have to go through that again though
