  1. The thing is though we are a family of four and if he applies for a permanent visa we all have to so its the added cost for all of us getting us out within a year to valid our visas, we are talking about £10,000 to get us all out there and make the move, that's all on the understanding that he might not get work or even be able to work in heat, the 489 visa was an option to get him out there first to see, what types of restrictions would there be for him with it?
  2. Can apply for 489 visa but need to be nominated by Australian state? Hmm how do I do this? Any ideas?..
  3. I'm unsure of which skilled visa, we don't want a permanent visa til we know we are going to be able to wrk over there ok, I will try the visa wizard thanks
  4. My partner is 35 it states 18-30yrs only for holiday visas
  5. Hi all, please can anyone point me in right direction my partner wants to come to Australia and work on a temp visa just to see how the work is if it's right for us and if he can manage the work in the heat, finding it very difficult to see wat visa we need to get for this as won't be going for sponsorship 457 visa as seems to difficult to get. He is a skilled worker (coded welder) can anyone please give us a clue of what we need to be looking at??? We are sorting white card and know we need to do E.O.I thru skill select.
  6. Hi, my partner is looking to find a welding job in the Perth area is there much work?
  7. Hi all, what's the score on work as a qualified hairdresser with 7yrs experience? Is there much available? And the rate of pay? Really appreciate any info on this please thanks in advance :cute:
  8. Hi, my partner is a coded flux core welder currently in oil and gas trade, we have done a research online for jobs and perth seems to be a good hotspot for work so we are looking at that area basically to get the best chance of getting well paid employment, can anyone tell me if the info is right? :err:
  9. Hi, I will also have to get permission, we won't be moving out til my son is 14, I have already told his father my our plans and firstly did get a shock, but tried to explain the advantages and that I will ask him what he wants to do, at that age he shud be able to tell me how he feels. I would be ok if he wanted to stay finish his education then come out, but obviously want him with me, so if he does and I have to have the written permission I am unsure if his dad will give it, how do you actually apply to get the court order to say that it is fine with the judges say so and will I need to give evidence to support that it would be in his best interest?
  10. Ok I understand 'the better life' is used with nievety in some respect, thing is its a new start for us and our family, we all have different ideas of a better life, to us working hard with a good lifestyle, good weather, friendly people, good education and job prospects would be the better life, reports on newcastle being on the up? Sorry to say but we honestly struggle in this area, the minimum wage is terrible, kids go thru uni get into loads of debt and end up working in Asda just to pay the bills. travelling to the otherside of the world may sound extreme to some but we honestly thrive on starting this adventure but also have a back up plan if things don't wrk out (would be stupid not to) but thing is we want it to wrk and are going to make sure we try our utmost for our family!
  11. Thanku for the positive feedback
  12. Thanku so much you don't know how helpful that info is, to be honest we have a 5 yr plan, we can't relocate until my partners daughter is 18 there's no way her mother would give consent to her leaving the country, even tho she resides with her father, so this gives us time to save our money, plan everything as much as we can, my partner is a flux core coded welder and we have searched jobs over there realised how much wrk is available and rates of pay etc , I'm an experienced hairdresser with beauty therapist qualifications, we want a better life for our family unfortunately the future looks bleak here in England, and I'm very impressed with courses available over there for the kids, I don't think my son would have problems settling in life over there as he is a very outdoors person and makes friends easily, we live in an area which basically you learn from a young age to look after yourself (not saying it's a bad place at all just more down to earth in the north east of England) always been a working class area, we live on the coast a small fishing and mining village, so any info at all is cert a bonus to me
  13. Thank you so much it's all a lot to try and take in when kids are involved making sure your doin the best for them etc lol x
  14. Hi Ali, we will be coming over when he's in year 9, I just wanted to know if him coming over at that time in schooling will he have enough time to catch up with what the children are learning to complete his education (final exams) ?
