  1. I'm looking at North lakes to move perfect for kids etc , I've heard Calbooture is a bit rough from online sources haven't been to see it myself though.
  2. Comparing Blackpool to the GC!! Hahaha I currently live in NW england and wow Gold coast is like paradise compared to Blackpool, I've been out on surfers and I'd say it's relatively tame compared to a night out in liverpool, manchester etc even Warrington! GC has a lovely mix for all ages plenty of stuff for the kids to do and the night life is really great. I stayed on Broadbeach Waters and found it beautiful and peaceful each to their own I suppose.
  3. Went on holiday to QLD for 3 weeks it was so beautiful and 10x better than I could have dreamed of. My DF is already on the SOL but I have a place at university to do nurse training. I've been looking at the universities in QLD not sure of the cost though I arrived back in the u.k 3 days ago and I just feel like crying. It's so grey and cold i thought i'd be excited to see my family but i wasnt. I just have the urge now to move but the waiting is awful.
  4. yeah you are right, i'd say that internet is more expensive in Aus than the U.K the only major negative to me about Australia, hopefully when I move here I won't feel the need to play games as much and I'll be outside so much more.
  5. I'm in the process of considering a move to QLD permanently I'm here in the Gold Coast at the minute. PRO's: Great weather, sunshine, I've always HATED the weather in the U.K and the grey mist that seems to linger 300 days a year. My mood just lifts when its sunny, the pace of life just seems more relaxed everyone seems so friendly the amount of space!! The roads are wider, gorgeous scenery, less people crammed into places, even CBD doesn't seem rammed like almost every other town in the U.K. It isn't really that much more expensive than U.K to be honest & salaries are bigger. I can also get a big property with pool etc for cheaper than U.K houses. There aren't really traffic jams as much as the u.k it tends to clear quite quickly. I can go for nice walks almost everyday and enjoy activities for free I always have to take my daughter to softplay in the u.k Cons: Being away from family isn't a big deal to me, I have a toddler she see's my dad once per week, we arent that close I've gone 6 months without seeing him before when I was living in london he would never travel to see me, mum abandoned me and my siblings, brother is in the navy and I don't get along with my sister. But if you are close to your family then it must be crap, internet speeds here are crap, I'm an avid gamer so it's a bit off putting, no nhs, everythings closer together and if you have too you can drive anywhere in the u.k, The insects and the bites are horrible, risk of skin cancer etc is much more here you need to put on suncream EVERY DAY! Also I hate it that my car is like boiling hot everyday if I park outside. You absolutely need a car if you live here. I also don't like aussie tv, but I can always stream it online (pending internet) I guess I'll just have to pay for superfast broadband.
  6. He's not that interested in moving abroad I'm more enquiring for him to see if i can persuade him.
