  1. Hi all. How long are your 189 visas taking to be granted from lodgement date? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. Hi thanks so much for your reply. His degree is civil engineering and pgce will be maths. Would he be able to teach another subject? If not do you think he would still be able to secure a job? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. Hi all. New to this thread. We are in process of getting 189 visa. Y husband has just been accepted on to a secondary maths pgce here in the UK and is wondering if he should do it before we make the move to Oz. We are hoping for QLD. Anyone know if there really are many maths teaching jobs available? I know it's on the csol for QLD but also know that doesn't necessarily mean there are jobs. Thanks all in advance Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

    Medicals

Hi all, sensitive question. I'm due to complete a course I paid for and in order to defer it I need a letter from my GP. Ive just had a baby so unable to complete the course as I'm having a bit of a rough time. I know doctor will write something along the lines of post natal depression. Will this go against me when it comes to my medical? If so I would be prepared to just forfeit the fee but if I can defer then all the better. Thanks
  5. If you get the invite are you guaranteed the visa? Provided nothing untoward with the process thereafter?
  6. Hi all How confident would you be of getting a 189 with just 60 points? Thanks
  7. Just wondering if anyone would recommend Go Matilda? Thanks
  8. Thank you all so much for your replies definitely food for thought and some great tips
  9. Thanks supercow for your input. We haven't even started the process and already my head is spinning. Yes you are right in grand scheme of things it's not a life changing amount of money. Going to sound stupid here but what is a "grant"? Also what agent did you use? Lots of people seem to use one in Oz but would one in UK not be handier? I know to make sure they are mara registered
  10. Hi guys just wondering if you can tell me if you think a migration agent is needed or if it's manageable to do alone? Thanks
  11. That's good to know lady rainicorn thanks! Yeah keep thinking this sounds too good to be true! Bungo thanks again you're a fountain of knowledge
  12. I am trying not to get excited until in totally sure I am understanding all this correctly. I went on to anzscosearch.com and entered the civil engineering code 233211 and selected anzsco info. There are two specialisations listed Airforce Engineer Officer and Hydraulics Engineer. Does that mean they are only looking them or them as well as civil engineers? Sorry for being such a pain as I said I really want to make sure I get my head round this before screaming with excitement that my dream could come true!
  13. Hi all thanks so much for your replies. I took some time as advised and have found that his degree is recognised by EA. have spoken to a migration agent who confirmed he can go down that route with no experience and would need top marks in ielts to get the 60 points which I'm hoping won't be a problem. However can any of you answer this? I checked the anzsco website for civil engineer and it lists two specialisations. Does this mean that only people in those specialist roles are in demand and not all civil engineers? Thanks again
  14. Oh right I thought you meant he needs licenced here. Is the only way to find out by paying for the skills assessment? Would they give you advice on the phone?
  15. Thanks will stick with his occupation then. Do you know if the vet assess website lists any more details on his occupation or is this info only found on the anzsco website?
  16. Thanks Bongo. I just assumed he wouldn't be eligible as a civil engineer as he has no work experience. As soon as he graduated he took the factory manager job and never got into civil engineering. Any idea how I could find out?
  17. My husband is a factory manager so we are hopefully going to apply for a 190 visa to SA as its on the CSOL list for there. code is 133411. He has 13 years experience but his degree is in civil engineering. Can anyone tell me will this be a problem? I read the job description on the anzsco website, is there anywhere else you get a more detailed one or is that it? thanks so much
  18. Thanks for your reply. I have checked the link you sent me and the job is on it too. How do we go about finding out if we can apply for state sponsorship and which states are looking for that occupation?
  19. Hi everyone first post. I'm finding the whole visa thing very complicated. My husbands occupation is listed under the CSOL list - facilities manager. does this mean he has to get a job offer before going? Also what's the difference in schedule 1 and schedule 2? thank you all
