I work at Perth airport and I start work at 06.30 and finish at 15.00 Monday-Thursday and 6.30 till 12.30 Friday. 38 hour week. Better hours for me than the UK and takes about half hour each way to get there. I get every evening to take the kids down the park/beach and be there for bedtime stories. And weekends off! so I really can't ask for much more. My start time was 7.30 when I first started but the traffic was awful and my employers allowed me to change my hours to avoid the worst of it. The Aussie guys are decent blokes who work just as hard as anyone else.

I lodged on the 25th of November so it was late in the month, so it's taken 2 and a half months which is quite normal. There was no delay I was assigned a case officer and never had any communication. Just notification of the grant about 10 days later

VISA granted!!! Perth bound in August! Can't believe It! Still sinking in. Hope you guys get the good news soon!

Hi lemon that certainly sounds a bit strange. I was wondering why I was allocated a case officer when I've already loaded everything? I've seen that others who have front loaded received a direct grant. Anyhow please keep us updated.

Hey guys got an email to say I have been assigned a case officer!!! Don't know how long I will have to wait for a decision but it's something, guess it depends if they want more info, will keep you posted.

Lodged 189 on 25th November still waiting for some good news anyone also lodge around this time?

Hi guys just found this thread i lodged a 189 on the 24th November, pre loaded everything except a picture of our kitchen sink so hoping for a quick grant sometime in the near future, I think November was a good shout as the whirlwind of Christmas took my mind off the wait! Time has now slowed to a crawl! Hope all other novemberites get some good news soon!

Thanks Martin for the quick reply really appreciate it. No matter how certain I feel that I'm in control of this whole thing, something always comes along and makes me doubt myself.

Hi guys hoping for someone to put my mind at ease. Probably a silly question but when you pay the fee for the 189 visa is it effectively lodged? Can you get HAP ids for the medicals before lodging a visa? Or does a visa have to be lodged before you are given these. Anyone who could help thanks so much
