  1. Not sure if this is the right forum. I am looking at doing a master's in Australia. I might have to do the graduate certificate first as my degree is different discipline. How does this work visa wise. Will I have to apply separately. I know that with a master's I can study 20 hours and my other half full time. Would this be same for graduate certificate?

  2. I understand that you need to have been accepted by a college before you apply for the student visa. Do you have to pay the college fees in advance of getting the visa and if so is it one term or the full year? If you didn't get the visa would you get a refund of fees? Just trying to understand the whole process. How long does it take to get the student visa - I read a couple of posts that suggests it could be five months.

  3. Thanks for replying Pom Queen. I am looking to do a masters by research as you can work full time while doing it which makes it a bit more affordable. It would be business/hr/conflict management related. I have looked at the main universities in QLD ie QUT, CQ, University of Queensland, etc as I would be based in Brisbane. Would not rule out a college in another part of Australia if fees were big difference as attendance at college would be limited. Fees vary but probably 22,000 upwards per year for two year masters.

I only looked at Brisbane college because they do a two year leadership course - would only be able to work part time though.
