Hi all, I am looking to apply for my citizenship this year. Currently my application date is April 4th 2016 (1 year from time of PR granted). I have some travel plans this year (family weddings etc.) so I will go over the 90 days of being out of the country in the 1 year before you apply rule which means I won't qualify for April 4th 2016 application. I tried asking someone the below question in the citizenship office and they couldn't really give me any clarity. I am just wondering am I correct to calculate the last year's number of days out of the country totalling back from the date I wish to apply. For example if I decide to apply on August 1st 2016 (providing I am eligible), do I only need to count the number of days I have been out of the country from August 1st 2015? Hi guys, Hope someone can help. Can I apply for RCB approval and nomination/PR application at same time. Any tips or hints from people who have been down this path as self sponsored individuals? I run my own company and am now looking at doing it all myself as have had some poor experiences with agents. Thanks

Hi all, I have just been recommended to this site and wow...What a great way to support each other in visa applications I am a first time poster and I have being trying to search for people in my situation but not having much luck. Here's my story: Came to Oz in 2012 and got sponsored on 457 - hated the job, setup my own business and transferred visa across to my new company so now I am self sponsored on a 457 as Director/Employee which expires in 2016. I am the only employee in the business. I have looked into doing a Direct Entry RSMS but was concerned as the stream I was sponsored in was no longer the main core of my business. So, I have lodged (with agent help) a change of nomination to another ANZSCO occupation which suits better and once (hopefully) this is approved, I will apply for PR without an agent. I am based in WA and have a defacto partner on my visa. I really want to get my application sorted before the end of June (in case of price hikes/legislation changes etc) and had some questions/concerns. I would love to hear form anyone who has taken or is taking a similar path as me so we can share experiences and knowledge. - Can I/should I start RCB approval process now or should I wait for nomination outcome? Is this process straight forward? - Are there any profitability thresholds or tests in order for my business to be granted RCB? - Can I apply for PR at the same time as the RCB application? - What can I be doing now to assist the whole process?
