  1. Hi, I'm currently working on the northern beaches area of Sydney until January (here on a WHV), I am trying to get house sittibg over the Xmas period to cut down on accommodation costs. I have been offered a 3 week sit in neutral bay which I think will be a good area for new year, the only issue I have is parking! I need my car to get to and from work but the house sit only has on street parking which is restricted unless a permit holder. Is there anywhere in neutral bay that has unrestricted parking? I'm really not familiar with the area and I work shifts so not necessarily out all day. Anyone live in the area that can shed some light for me? Thanks
  2. Hi guys Thanks for the replies! I have been to a few meet ups but they seem to always fall on days Im working. Would be great to meet up If you both still fancy it? Manly would be cool, im also hapoy to travel anywhere really if easier. Let me know what you think!
  3. Hi guys! I've been in Australia 4 months now and travelled around alot before finally settling in Sydney for work. If anyone needs help with anything let me know, or even just to meet for coffee as I came alone so know how scary it can be. Feel free to send me a message!
  4. Are these meet ups still happening? Would love to meet some friends, been here 4 months but lacking in female friends. If you could let me know when the next meeting is I would be grateful
  5. Hey! Im Becky, 27 years old and been in australia nearly 4 months on a WHV. Ive been lucky enough to travel for the whole 4 monghs but now funds are low and the time to work has come. I have just started a job in frenchs forest on the northern beaches and found a house share in belrose so this is where il be fir the next 5 months. The area is incredibly quiet and I don't know anyone so im pretty bored :-( Looking for some friends in Sydney who I can do the normal social stuff with!
  6. I'm in Sydney too at the moment and looking to travel east coast asap. I have a surf camp booked until 23rd but then looking to move on if anyone fancies joining me? I'm 27 and only been here 3 days so still finding my feet!
  7. Thank you! I have pretty much everything else sorted but never even thought about the mone situation. I really hope the money does last me 6 months....im not a big party person or drinker and been that little bit older (27 by time i get to Aus) i think il be sensible with spending. Taken me 2 years to get to this stage...sold my property, car and belongings so really hope its as great as i perceive it to be Only 2 weeks to go!!
  8. Hi guys, New to the site but had a good read of a few threads and lots of great info on here I will be landing in Sydney on 13th May after a 3 days stopover in Hong Kong to start my 12 months in Aus on WHV. I have saved approx £6500-£7000 so hoping to travel around a bit before i have to start working (i hope for at least 3 months). Im unsure on how to bring the money with me....i was thinking of taking £100 worth hong kong dollars for stopover and small amount australian dollars for arrival and then open a bank account in Sydney and transfer sum of money from UK account to Aus account. Do you think this is the best way to do it? I will have my debit card as back up until funds transferred and means i don't have to carry large amounts of cash. What does everyone else do regarding bringing money?
