Hii Captain C, Thanks and gud luck to you.. Well for the PCC, the main issue was for Liberian one, I could not obtain one and thus they asked for a Character statutory declaration and internally they went for a penal waiver for the same. It took some time to get the waiver and the last thing i was asked was the "Good Conduct Letter" from employers for Liberian vessels served. I provided the same and grant came thru. Gud luck to you!! Thanks a lot mate, I had enquired from the Italy office and was informed that they do not issue the document in English, in fact the document was issued to other applicants also(for what purpose, I do not know) but they were all issued in Italian as I was informed. Hope the document gets accepted, or else have to check out with NAATI. regards, amit

Right buddy, thanks a ton.

Hii Mark, Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated. Kindly tell, if the document translation into english can be done online, by contacting NAATI. Thanks, Amit

Hii all, My name is Amit, and I have applied for Subclass 189 visa under SO of "Ships Master" and am at last stages of visa process. I have been sailing since 2003 under different flags. Last month I was contacted by my case officer and was asked to provide the police clearance documents from Italy and Liberia (under whose flag I have sailed most). For Liberia, I could not obtain thus provided Character Statutory Declaration, but for Italian PCC, the authorities did responded and sent me the document by normal post on 13th of Nov. Now my questions are: 1) If anybody under same or other occupation in SOL, has applied either from Italy or abroad and was asked to provide the PC document, then kindly advise what to do if the document is issued in Italian language. Is the document accepted by DIBP, if not then what is the procedure for convincing DIBP?? 2) How much time can I expect till the document arrives to my place from Italy?? I stay in Dehradun, India. 3) What if the document does not arrive at all?? Guys please help, and let me know your advise to above querries... Cheers, Amit

Hii Ajit, Which hot topic u talking about?? For jobs they are scarce, but am waiting for my grant (PCC from Italy is yet to arrive). Later upon receiving grant(fingers crossed) I would go in for FIFO job, have recently changed over to MODEC (an FPSO owning company) but awaiting the contract letter. Lets see, would try my luck in Australian offshore after some experience. Btw, if any of the good mates in here could tell "how long does it takes for a normal post to arrive in India from Italy?" My police document was sent from Italy on 13th Nov. by normal post as they do not send the document by registered post or courier service. Guys, please share your experiences... Cheers, Amit -
