  1. I know it is frustrating to prepare for another English test. However, there are many people who tried taking IELTS to get additional points, but their efforts did not pay off. They were surprised with their results after trying PTE. They gained those additional points to receive invitation. You may check following forum for experiences of people taking PTE http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/231707-ielts-v-s-pearson-test-english-academic-pte-academic-my-personal-findings.html It is important you are at the top of the charts in invitation rounds, especially when you are applying under a highly competitive profession. They are issuing pro-rated invitation to Software Engineers due to fierce competition among applicants. In my case I took IELTS with British Council and obtained 7+ points in each section and got 10 GSM points. I am sure if I had taken PTE, then I would have got additional 10 points. My points were as follows Age - 30 Bachelor Degree - 15 Australian Work Experience - 5 Overseas Work experience - 5 IELTS - 10 NSW State nomination - 5 Total - 70 points I applied under Accountant (General) category which is also a highly competitive profession for Australian GSM visa.
  2. It appears that you've just missed getting points for your English skills. I would recommend you to take PTE. That will help you improve your point score by 5 or 10 points, and with improved point score there are chances that you receive invitation to apply for subclass 189.
  3. It is just the competition among prospective immigrants under Accountants' category that drive a successful prorated invitation to apply for subclass 189. A person may opt for an Australian state nomination, which gives him/her additional 5 points and a higher probability of invitation to apply for visa subclass 190. I believe, GSM invitation cap does not apply to subclass 190. Also, one may claim partner skills to rise up in the point test rankings. For more details you may please refer to a booklet titled 'Point Based Skilled Migration' published by DIBP Australia. Currently, I am working in a Big4 accounting firm outside Australia. I am trying to request for an internal transfer to Australian firm. However, it all depends on job openings matching my profile in that firm. I have been working with my current firm since last two and a half years. My prior work experience in diverse industries and working for different geographies helped me land into this role. Being part of Big4 definitely gives you an advantage in job market, but in case of obtaining a PR visa one needs to have right work experience. It doesn't matter if you work for a big4, a boutique firm or a small company; it is important that your education and work experience should be verifiable to DIBP to match your points claim.
  4. Dear ravian611 I would not guide you on your career path; however, I can present some facts Tax Manager can be classified under SOL 2211 - Accountants ERP consultant might be classified under either 2611 - ICT Business and Systems Analyst or 2613 - Software and Applications Programmer. You may please verify this with ACS. Following are the limits on how many invitations are issued in these subclasses during 2015-16 programme year 2211 - Accountants - 2525 out of which 755 are already issued 2611 - ICT Business and Systems Analyst - 1536 out of which 832 are already issued 2613 - Software and Applications Programmers - 5364 out of which 2966 are already issued. Another important factor to consider is the pro-rated invitation to intending point based skilled migrants. During 08 Jan 2016 invitation round, invitation cutoff were as follows 2211 - for applicants holding 70 points as on 19 Nov 2015 2611 - for applicants holding 65 points as on 03 Oct 2015 2613 - for applicants holding 60 points as on 26 Jun 2015 You may infer from above data that 2613 has fierce competition since there are many people who are waiting to get an invitation to apply for GSM visa for more than 6 months. Also, accountants need to have higher points in order to get an invitation. I would recommend you to take in to account your education, age, work experience and English proficiency before you make a decision on your career path for Australian migration. I am currently working with a Big4 in Accounting Advisory. I have received my subclass 190 grant (Point score 65 + 5 = 70) in Nov'15. I applied under 221111 - Accountant (General). I wish you all the best.
  5. No, not yet. I am planning to move in mid May this year.
  6. Easy mate.. you've just got your PR. Plan for moving to Australia rather than obtaining Citizenship. You may refer to http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Ente/Retu/residence-calculator for Citizenship criteria. I hope this clarified your query. All the best.
  7. Congratulations!! The waiting was worthwhile, wasn't it? Wish you all the best for future.
  8. Thank you You'll also receive the grant soon. If you have claimed points for your work experience, then DIBP might be verifying it with your past/current employer. Some employers turn around late on DIBP's queries, and that might lead to a delay in visa grant.
  9. Send your clinic payment receipts to your CO. You may just respond to your CO's email. Please ensure you put your application reference number and each client ID in your email.
  10. PTE test dates are easily available. Their results are declared in less than 5 days after the test. IELTS will hold that 0.5 score in one of the modules of the test. People in need of score of 7 or 8 in each module have to take IELTS several times. It is frustrating sometimes, since you score 8+ in all but writing. I strongly recommend PTE over IELTS.
  11. Hearty congratulations!! It appears that it took exact 6 months for your visa grant from your application submission date. What skill did you apply under? What timeline is given to you to enter Australia?
  12. I applied under 221111 - Accountant (General). My point score before nomination was 65.
  13. Did you try contacting DIBP? It's more than 45 days since you submitted all requested documents. May I know what skill you have applied under? I wish you all the best.
