Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has experience in getting their medicare card and what the process is? Do you need to be in aus at the time? might be a silly question..

I applied by myself too. It is easier than using an agent. You still need to do the work. I got my visa within 5 weeks. Getting skills/qualifications assessed was the Longest process.

Thank you, Cherrygn. I can't wait!!! THe sad part is where I am now (Canada) is so so so cold and if i were to move in July, I will have had the winter for the better part of 12 months preceding my arrival in melbourne!! argh! Already looking into jobs!!!! Fingers crossed!!!!

Thank you, Coolbreeze!! I am so chuffed! I logged into immi account and it had document status changed to received, and minutes later, i received the grant letter. Yours will be very quick too. After medicals and form 80. I wasn't asked form 80 but i uploaded anyways. Was a task! Can't wait for the january gang to get their visas!!!!

VISA IS DEFINITELY GRANTED- GOT THE EMAIL!!!!!! Entry prior to August 11, 2014!!! WOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!! I uploaded form 80 and within couple of hours the grant came!!!! OMG, CANNOT BELIEVE I AM AN AUSSIE PR!!!!

I think VISA GRANTED..... I still cannot access the letter for some reason. I got an email saying status finalized, I logged in- it says view grant letter, i click on it, It takes me to correspondence page and it is empty!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Does anyone know how to contact the department when you have not been assigned a CO? i have tried looking online but no email addres sor phone number (outside of australia)

Congratulations!!!!!! That's amazing. Did they tell you what documents you need? I am getting more and more worried why I have not heard from a CO!! Do you know who to contact- it's been over 5 weeks now fo rme going into the 6th week. Sigh!!!!

This is interesting. All my documents except my employment letters are certified. This is because some of the evidence I have are in email format (attached documents that were scanned from the employer). I hope it will suffice. If not, I guess CO will ask for it. I loged my application on 3rd of January- but medicals on 31st! Not a sign of CO~

Congrats coolbreeze!!! What proof did you upload as employment proof? I uploaded only employment letters as I lived in so many places and so difficult to show payslips and bankstatements (some accounts closed etc)

I saw on another forum that someone lodged their application on 13th of january and got their grant today!!

I hope so! I am getting slightly anxious. I have uploaded everything, except form 80. I am nto sure if I need to. Waiting....It is strange how many British are waiting to migrate to auz- yet we complain about immigrants to the UK haha!

Hi Coolbreeze, ONLY some items have the 'received' status, others still say 'required' (even though I have uploaded them). And CO has not looked at any of them. My medical link disappeared as soon as the medicals were submitted to the DIAC. It's already been 4 weeks for me! My documents changed to Received status as soon as they were uploaded on the 7th, but other documents that were submitted after 7th still say 'required' status. Anyway..if anyone has any updates, please share!
