  1. I'm sorry to hear about the changes happened last week, but apparently there will be a massive change in relation to 187 visa. From March 2018 onwards, for all ENS(186) & RSMS(187) visas the nominated position must on MLTSSL. According to the new changes, for those who are looking to apply for 186 or 187 visa if your nominated position is now on the STSOL you'd better hurry up to lock yourself in, you still can get 186 ( Direct Entry stream) on STSOL position until March 2018. Need 3 year working experience prior to apply both visas, which currently 186 (2 years) while 187 not mandatory. The 2 year working commitment post visa grant may increase to 3, Main applicant's age is restricted down to 45, might be exemption just wait until more details released. For more info, here is the immigration fact sheet. https://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Documents/reforms-australia-permanent-employer-sponsored-migration-programme.pdf
  2. You can't apply for medicare with a student visa in effect.
  3. The processing time is totally unpredictable as a friend of mine has got his visa granted in just 2 weeks, even though he was not decision ready. However, I have heard someone in Queensland has been waited for 11 months and still waiting. Did you apply through MA? If so I would say try to get your MA to call immi to find out what's going on as you have already been waiting more than the standard processing time. Mine one is processed at melbourne, and actually the occupation is multimedia designer. Someone mentioned before that the processing speed vary depends on occupation but I'm not sure. Best of luck
  4. Hi guys Finally got my PR today!!!! yeah... FYI, here is my timeline.. 24 June 2013 - RCB Application 25 July 2013 - RCB Approved 21 August 2013 - Visa and Nomination application (through MA, DRC, High risk country) 22 January 2014 - PR Granted (MA told me that the visa and nomination approved together, no sign of CO allocate) I will update my processing centre when I receive my letter from MA. Thanks
  5. Mine one is even later than yours, mine one applied on 21/Aug, probably in Mel office, not pretty sure, however I have a bad feeling that it may takes forever to grant.
