Hi. Yes they accept top up degree. I was originally diploma trained and topped up to honours degree. I have eligibility for registration which will be granted when I present to Ahpra office.
-
I think if you have been registered before you will be fine.
-
2yrs I think!
-
As it stands currently with ahpra anyway!
-
I'm afraid she wouldn't get to work as an EN even. Uk nurses aren't eligible. Nursing assistant at best unless she tops up to degree.
-
Criteria 8 relates to your training and must cover all the areas pharmacology, pharmakokinetics, drug admin etc. You would have done it all. Ask your university to write up a document which covers this. Mine did and it was accepted.

You are probably better waiting Jac! Its not too long till Sept and Ahpra are so behind processing all other IQNMs it probably won't make much difference! Some nurses have been waiting over 8mnths....one nurse over a year!!
-
Think NMC pin was one also but it was that long ago I can't remember!

Passport fine u just have to write a cover letter saying you have applied for visa. (assuming u have). Unsure re rest as I used driving license.

I doubt very much AHPRAs assessment will change afterall many overseas applicants withdegrees from their countries have been doing the bridging program for years. Australian nurses have to do the bridging courses if they have left to have a family and have not worked for 5 years (which is nothing, and another story.)
There is no major nursing shortage and therefore no pressure to import nurses, just some specialties are short of experienced nurses.
You guys however are probably making aware to many, a very big loophole and ANMC AHPRA disparagy and most likely ANMAC (btw, no nurse applicant has reported on forums to have ever had negative assessment) will change or Immi will stop giving IO out without nursing registration. Or nothing...
I would not hold your breath on changes to AHPRA assessment.. Some of the tweets to AHPRA I would imagine, are not doing your cause any favours.

I imagine most nurses would be happy if the 'loophole' was closed then they wouldn't have to waste thousands of $£ to get to Australia and then find themselves claiming benefits! Unless you think nurses spend years training and working to become highly skilled practitioners for no other reason than to migrate on a skilled visa then just live off centrelink payments. GET REAL. And until something is done to address this injustice then people should keep on tweeting and raising awareness as much as they can, because unlike you, most of us would try and support fellow nurses and stop them from having to go through this for nothing!!

Wonder why they are saying 3 months to some people????
-
Ahh ok! Still yes, 3/12 is ridiculous! They are making it very difficult for everyone now it seems! Let us know how u get on and good luck.
-
Sorry no shortcuts...its all a nightmare!
-
What??? No way!! Ahpra said its 12 months to present on Twitter! That seems quick to get an LOE in 1 month too! Are you degree only trained?
-
Whats going on with this thread, can't see posts.

Join the club! Pm'd u!
-
Oh sorry no idea. I wasn't asked to send anything like that.
-
I think if you have them sent direct from Uni that is usually ok....but don't hold me to that! Inconsistencies everywhere where Ahpra are concerned!
-
Bouncy you can send them to any office but international applications go via Sydney so just send there!
-
If you can, go for an independant visa but wait until you have ahpra confirmed! Its a nightmare at the moment esp if u are diploma trained!
-
Hi Petal. I have sent u a pm.
-
Well done bigmac!

University of Manchester, same place that I did my training. I started it a couple of years after qualifying then you have 5 years to complete. I think some Uni's do online courses too now. I think the quickest you can complete is within a year but I would contact your local institutions.
