  1. Job help ! Hi everybody. Just looking for some advice or leads at getting me my dream job, sad as it sounds ! Im currently living in Perth but move to Queensland at Xmas depending on work. I work in the civil construction industry operating plant, laying pipes etc and I've got plenty of experience. Back in the Uk I hold my supervisors certificate and have just completed a year at college doing my first qual in site management. Despite having previous experience of working on a rural quarry in NSW for 12 months I'm struggling to find a job here on one of the larger remote civil projects or gas lines or even mines, anywhere that I can get my head down and earn some dollars! people keep saying permanent residents only and that I need a hr license. Just wondering if anyone had any advice or new of any of the better companies to get in touch with. thanks danny
  2. Thanks your info mate. New it was all to good to be true about getting on ! Ill prob just stick too civil works then instead, is there plenty of work in the regional remote areas for that do you know? I hear of jobs starting off, setting up the infrastructure for new mines that are fifo. Again any agencies or companies specialise in this ? Sorry for the questions just hard to get any real info from people I know over here. cheers
  3. e mate I'm on a WHV my misses won't commit to staying just yet! This is my second one to so it's my last crack at it although my mum has just gained residency over in noosa as a nurse. Im with a couple of agencies ye so ill keep trying , I think it's that HR license that's the big factor in it, if you can do it in automatic though it shouldn't be too costly. looks to be plenty of civils work knocking about though so shouldn't be a problem when you get out here . Whilst I'm at it you haven't got the names of any of the better agencies have you by any chance pal! Seems to be that many anyway thanks for info mate

  9. Hi diggerman! Im new on this forum site, just figuring it out. anyway I'm in the same boat as the other fella above, hold my excavator tickets dumper tickets but need to get them changed to Aussie. Can you remember the company name where you did your certificate? I've had 2 quotes one off Perth training centre the other off RMS. Also been looking into hr license , is the automatic version more than enough to get on the bigger mine, civil sites? Appreciate any info thanks dan
