  1. Hi Danny, what kind of visa do you have? If it's a WHV, you've no chance of getting on a mine site, most companies and contractors want someone who is resident or has a permanent visa, i am currently in for two jobs with a contractor who shortlisted me last year for a position, but it fell through when the mining slump hit just after last September, if that doesn't work out then when i do get out next year i shall just get myself into the construction side to get a start. Stick your head through the agencys doors and keep pestering them, try getting yourself on LinkedIn and start making contacts, Try CMT Trainers for your HR license, they are in Bunbury, i was going there last yr, but couldnt complete Good Luck pal

  3. That sounds like a plan bud, was going to get my white card online anyway, and i had already tried to do my HR when i was in Perth last yr for a couple of weeks but Transport dept threw it out...as we hadn't got my paperwork in order in time..lol...i made a lot of contacts when i was there, heads threw doors etc...nearly had a sponsored job until they pulled the pin in Feb...looking forward to getting out there sometime around April/May next yr. Who did you use for your refresher?
  4. Hi Guys and Gals, new to this forum, My partner and i are going to be starting a visa application this week, she's a nurse so she is the main applicant, obviously i will gain a 457 on the back of her application. As a machine operator here in the UK, do i need to take a skills assesment for my part of the application? My skill as an operator is not on the Skills list, so when i go out (hopefully the visa will be granted), what do i need to take with me to prove my experiance apart from all my certificates and tickets from the UK??? Or can i take something when i get out there to convert my skills to ozzy qualifications??? Look forward to your views or information.......... Thanks
