  1. Hi Newbie,

i also have VF, and am waiting with bated breath. It's been a long wait, but hopefully it will be over soon. Our application was received on the 13th of May. We are currently in Australia and have been since October (with a NZ trip squeezed in there). Can't wait for some good news! :))))

Thanks for posting Chirobarn!! Im a week behind you! In the same boat. Waiting in Melbs...I've been here since September. So I did the NZ trip too! Are you on a tourist?

eeek can't wait for some good news too :))))))) will you post when you know??

  2. So plucked up the courage to ask my CO if any chance of a grant while I am in NZ and no such luck! (CO assigned 11th June). "Unfortunately due to current processing times we are unable to finalise the application based on your request below. I will be in contact once we are in a position to do so."

hmpff. Was wishful thinking I know! So wish I applied onshore!

aww BizLarker that's rubbish ahhh... I was wondering if you'd had any luck. Me too wishing id applied onshore but at this stage now we are sooo close. Just got to keep positive and know it's all going to be over soon and all this waiting will be worth it in the end!

Ive even found myself checking my email in the day hahah when London is in the middle of the night!!! *losing it slightly* :twitcy:

  3. Congratulation Andre!!!!!!! That's amazzing news...Ive been checking everyday to see another May applicant going thought :-)

Right so let's hope to see a few more over the next few weeks!

Brownox I can completely sympathize with you!!! starting to get a little impatient now around the 7.5 month mark eeeeek. I think a ETA visa shouldn't disrupt your PMV. Just means if you come over you'll have to go offshore. Have you given your CO a nudge email?

A few months back people where getting grants around the 7/ 7.5 mark but recently it's been more towards the 8. Anyone else think the same??

wish i knew where I was in the pile!!! Anyone got VF or been granted from VF recently??

  4. Yaaaay awesome news!!! Same CO as me too, vey exciting! Seems like getting in contact with them almost acts as a reminder or something...

Does anyone know - we're moving back in with my parents for a few weeks prior to flying to australia, do we need to tell CO this address?

Happy New year everyone! and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas :-)

Lucyh88 Have you herd anything yet?? Im getting itchy feet now we are well over the 7 month mark! ahhhh x

  5. Received by London 11th June. Still waiting. Am going offshore to NZ 5th Jan as 3 month tourist visa expires 6th Jan. Hoping my CO grants while I am away. Will be shy of 7 months by a few days. One can hope!

Hopefully the email to let your C.O know your going off shore will be a little reminder!! That seems to have worked for a few people. Fingers crossed for you! Xxxx near to the end now yeay

  6. Been looking at this thread for a long time now and being an April applicant I decided to call my co yesterday for a wee chat. I let her know our travel plans and she told me that she was trying to grant all April applicants before Xmas, which was good enough for me as we don't leave until feb. I checked my email 1/2 hour later and BOOM. My grant !!

so all they need is a wee nudge is correct. Call your co if you've been waiting over 7 months . Keep the faith , it will happen

Yeeeeeay Congratulations!!! awesome awesome news. I'm a may applicant and hoping for a January grant!!!!

    Who is your CO?

    Keeping the faith :)

  7. Hi bigboy01. When I first started the process, I found this website extremely helpful: http://teamoyeniyi.com/2011/05/17/applying-for-a-partner-visa/

Her whole section on Partner/Spouse Visa applications is very insightful. Helped me massively, and I even sent the 888 link to my friends and family to help them writing their Stat Decs.

    Hope that helps!

That's a really good link...wish id seen this when applying! Like the title 'love versus Goliath' it definitely feels like that

This picture sums up my visa journey...I'm sure some of you can relate!

  8. Hi guys, I contacted by CO to update details and she replied thanking me and advised my visa would be approved the week before I travel to australia in jan which will be roughly 8 months. Very happy with the news as I hadn't asked for a date, relief to know I won't have to go offshore!

That's awesome news!!! I plucked up the courage to make contact as well. She told me the the timing of the grant will still be the 8-9 months and advised me to follow up with a WHV in the mean time if i need to start work. She also told me that she had assessed me for the subclass 100 which I am really happy about!!! Wish she had emailed me that info ages ago. It's hard when you go months without hearing anything and you have loads of questions. I'm glad I contacted her wish id done it sooner to put my mind at rest!!!

Now hurry up new year...we're on the last stretch now!

  9. Haha yeah I've not dared either definitely don't want to annoy her! I'm sure it's a case of no news is good news though. Great to see a may grant, it really could be any day now which is very exciting!! Would love it to be before Christmas!

I keep saying...all i want for Christmas is a visa grant haha

but either way it will be new year and a great way to start 2014!

  10. Yaaaay awesome news!!! Same CO as me too, very exciting! Seems like getting in contact with them almost acts as a reminder or something...

Does anyone know - we're moving back in with my parents for a few weeks prior to flying to australia, do we need to tell CO this address?

Yes it seems like a friendly nudge seems to remind them about you or something!

I've been scared to contact my C.O though as they put not to enquire about processing times. Just don't want to annoy them and for them to me me at the bottom of their pile eeeek! even if my enquiry is valid.

I've not herd anything from her in 5 months so I'm just hoping everything is ticking over nicely.

But it's definitely nice to know May are getting grants now so It could be any day! but then again it could be another tow months ahhhhhhh

  11. OMG!!!!!!!

Recieved my passport yesterday as had to change my surname from maiden name!

Sent off a copy via email to my CO and she has now given me my grant!!!!!!!

I want to scream and tell everyone but the hubby (in oz) is in bed and not answering his phone grrr!!! Lol i want to tell him before friends n family!!!

Our application took 7 months and 1 day!

And i got the 100 with indefinate leave!!!!

This is amazing! ! Congratulations! :-) soooo happy to finaly see a May applicant getting a grant! Well done woop woop xx

  12. Hey,

Have you called your co for a nudge yet? I really do think it helped me. I did have a job offer on the table, which I had advised them about previously also but I think that the call made the difference as my co immediately spoke to his manager and advised me there and then that they would be ready to grant once I exited oz (this was on the day of 7 month since applying). If you explain about tourist visa running out, I think it will help you get granted before.....hopefully. Fingers crossed for you.

Chany can i ask who your c.o was? I hit 7 months next week. Dont want to get my hopes up but it would b brilliant to start work!

  13. Looking at the stats on the spreadsheet, it looks like the current grant time is about 7 months and 1 week. If you hit the 7 month mark on 21 December the 7 month 1 week would be at Christmas :) If they are on holidays maybe you would hear in early January, that's what I'm hoping for anyway!

I was thinking the exact same thing! But you never know! Hope there is lots of grants in the new year :-)

  14. Hey everyone,

Well, I never thought the day would come but am over the moon to say my visa was granted today! Its such an amazing relief and im hoping it gives all you guys still waiting more hope of hearing soon. I applied on 24th April and KP was my co so took just over 7 months in all. I would also say that I called my co and that definitely seemed to help me get my visa through this week although I can't be sure of that but may be worth a try if you have hit the 7 month mark.

Good luck everyone! I'll keep hoping you all hear very soon!

    Yeeeay yeay...Congratulations!

Thats FAB news. ...sooo glad to hear of somone getting a grant !

  15. From my understanding of the documentation, they will automatically assess you for the 100 if you've been living as defacto for more than 3 years.

We have been actually living together for 4.5 years, so perhaps that's why we were told. Or perhaps, as Cheese Please says, they have changed procedures. I have my fingers crossed for you too!

    Thank you! :)

Yeah we've actually been living together for 4 and half years as well. But yeah maybe they have just changed the rules. I applied in May. So maybe its a new thing as my C.O hasnt said anything to me. I will live in hope though as it would be nice! Just heading into my 7th month so hopfully last few months to go eeeek

Anyone get that lovely grant email this week?

  16. Hey Newbie, will defo post when I know, it seems that people are getting their grants after 6 months, but I guess you can never go with that, Im In WA, just outside Perth, are you on a tourist visa? I am until Jan then if I have not heard anything will need to extend. How are you finding Melbs? We came over 2 months ago, did a big tour, 11,000ks was amazing, let me know if you hear anything aswell, fingers crossed we hear soon :)

Heyyy yeah im over on a tourist ETA been here just under 3months now so im off to New Zealand next week to re new my visa. Lovin Melbs! Just cant wait to properly settle once this visa comes through!

Really hope we hear more people getting grants this week!! I'll be logging on to check for updates :-)
