  1. Lebourvellec, Verystormy, Firstly, Happy New Year! Thank You Both for your replies, I have checked again the Grant notifications and state sponsorship agreement again and cant see any restrictions. I would have thought that they would have all restrictions for a visa listed on the Immi website somewhere but guess that would cause more confusion. Any way looks like I could be popping over sooner then expected. Thanks again
  2. Hi Mate, If you are unsure just phone the centre were you are going to have your medicals, we did that as we had a few concerns, they were really helpfull. It,s a pretty basic medical, questions on smoking, drinking, urine test, blood test, blood pressure, nothing at al to worry about, Strip off :embarrassed: (wear clean pants!), bend over (think of Australia) :arghh: touch your toes , they dont grab a handful and make you cough any more….. just ask if its all ok…. Then get dressed and thats it .
  3. Hi, all Was wondering if anyone can provide me with some advice/information We were granted out 190 visas this month (I was the Primary applicant), and as our situation has changed, as I am now unemployed. My wife wants me to go to Oz ASAP and find work, house set things up etc, so she can follow in a few months before the last entry date, Which makes sense to us both. However, when we were consulting migration agents we were told by 1 or 2 that if we were granted a 190 state sponsored visa then we would all need to enter Oz together to activate our visas. I cannot find anything in writing, which states this is the case. Is this correct, there is nothing under the visa conditions or on the state sponsorship agreement. I have spoken to Australia house in London who stated I can go on ahead but I’m just a bit concerned conflicting information I have been given, and I cannot find anything in writting to support wether I can or not. Does anyone know the answer or has anyone on a 190 gone on ahead of their family ?? Thanks
  4. Hi, I'm a bloke, and all I can say, is I would not wast your time trying to understand it, it sounds like he is lacking some sort or moral fibre, if he can't be straight with you. I was in a distance relationship with my wife for a couple of years when she was coming and going from her country. You know if you want to be with someone or not, and when you are from different countries there is sacrifices by both parties that sometimes needs to be made, move on find someone who knows what they want in life have some fun!!!!
  5. Congratulations, have fun in bali, and merry Christmas!

  7. As Rupet says, you will know when you are told, I had all sorts of messages appearing and changing, then the grant came, so you will just have to wait.
  8. Dave, You have got alot of sound advice of people, I met my wife 10 yeas ago and we were on and of, and apart for about 3 years, it has taken me 7 years to persuade her to try and give Oz ago, well she actualy sugested it after me not saying a thing about it for a coule of years, it may be a better life it may not, who knows. As a couple of the other posts say there is no reason you can't give both a go, go there activate your visa (depending on what type of visa you have got) come back see how the relationship pans out, she may change her mind or you may change yours who knows???
  9. Might be old but certainly not tired, as it is still relevant today!
  10. It’s Better to try something new, and regret it, Than to regret not trying it at all, If that makes sense,
  11. Get an international sim for your mobile, then you will have a number, you can buy them on line or I think the care phone warehouse and places like STA travel and trail finders do them, just a thought.
  12. Yeh if you wear glasses you will need them for the I test, and yes you also need the e-medical form. And maybe a bit of KY jelly incase the doc has run out!!!!
  13. Hay up. Can I Join the club? I Loged my application on the 25 September and got my Grant today 13 December Awsome!!!
  14. We lodged our visa first, then waited until the case officer requested our medicals, dont think you get a HAP Id until the application has been lodged. The hostpital will upload the resailta on to the e-medical system.
  15. We had ours in uk, I think the wife and I had a full medical as we had to have a chest x-ray, I waited until they asked for medicals but you don't have to. We had to fill in some forms and do an online declaration, through the application page on line, print off the forms and take to the hostpital with our passports. It was quite straight foreword really. Though in hind sight wish I had done the medicals earlier.
  16. Hi, We had ours in the UK, pretty straight foreword, blood test (HIV and stuff i think) blood pressure, then a load of health questions family history of deseases that sort of stuff, then just bend over tuch your toes, kinda like a medical for forces or emergancy services really. Very straight foreword stuff.
  17. Hay Up, Wander if anyone can help? Myself and my family had our medicals three weeks ago, the rest of the families status changed from, arrange medicals, to, no further health examinations required within a few days. Mine was still out standing (assumed it was reffered as Blood presure was high) until just now when I logged, they all including mine now say "The health examinations required for this applicant have not yet been determined. Your case will be referred to a case officer to determine if further health is required. This page will be updated with advice regarding whether health examinations are required to be undertaken. Please note that this will not occur until a case officer investigates your case in line with published processing times for the visa that you have applied for" Does anyone know what this means ?? Thanks
  18. no worries, If I remember rightly we had to first do an online declaration. At first I was not able to access it, it took a couple of weeks before I could complete the declaration, then a further few days until I could access the forms to print off and take to the medicals. I rekon its just all the brits want to get away from the Uk weather at this time of the year clogging up the system  when i was trying to book medicals in the summer the 2 hostpitals near us needed only a couple of days notice, the second the weather changed and the kids are back at school needed to book a week + in advance

    Medicals??

Ours was for a family of four and took about 3-4 hours, though most of the delay was for the chest x-rays for me and my wife. Answering the health questions took longer than the actual medical itself. they just checked height, weight, blood pressure, reflexes bendover touch toes lean from side to side, medical history just a medical basicaly it was straight foreword enough.
