  1. Now, given that this forum is a great place to compare experiences and timelines, you have a significant statistical sample that seems to prove that Brisbane's team 33 is faster than yours. Had it been just one person with that problem, it could have been dangerous to try to prod the supposedly "slow" team as it could have slowed down things even more. After all they are backed up by the 12 months processing time advertised on DIAC's website and if you upset them they may decide to use all the time that the policy allows. But you guys with the "slow" team could try sending individually a request to ask them to try to match the speed of their colleagues in team 33 (alternatively, a mail addressed to a supervisor indicating the disparities in assessment times between the teams. But calls and emails are all filtered and there are no direct emails to "higher" offices) . They will always be able to find a rationale to justify their slower processing time, but if more than one person complains things might move a bit faster. That, of course, if the theory that they are taking it easy just because they can is right. I believe there could be other factors influencing the process
  2. Syed, please let the gang know if your previous (and less than a year old) medicals done for the 485 visa are accepted for your 189 application. Although the tests are exactly the same, apparently a PR medical check is different from a TR medical check and they might not be interchangeable. I wonder why, as if your chest xray is clean, your medical check is ok and your HIV and Hepatitis B and C checks are negative, that those results should be universally valid, regardless of the visa you are applying for. Has anyone else used for his/her 189 application a previous and relatively recent (less than a year) medical examination (for example for a 457 or a 485)? Which team were you with? Thanks
  3. Thanks Elaine. Yes, common sense suggests that is the CO change/handover that slowed down your process. And transferring applicants from one team/CO to another, according to what is found on these forums, unfortunately happens more often than I thought. Sorry to hear they made you wait and struggle, glad to hear the outcome of your application was eventually positive Let's wait and see what happens
  4. Elaine: could you please share your timeline (inclusive of Team and CO's initials, if possible). Thanks and congratulations!
  5. I'm hoping you will read this request. I understand it's time to party and from now on you will probably start frequenting the forum more sporadically (if at all) Could you please tell me which team you were with, and the CO's initials? Thanks in advance. Above all (but written at the bottom): CONGRATULATIONS!
  6. Interesting case. Please update when you have an (hopefully positive) ultimate answer from the Department, hence an outcome for your application. It could be precious for other people to know how to handle and submit the skills assessments when submitting an EOI and subsequently (if invited) a subclass 189 visa application
  7. Your revolutionary format confused me! And to think I have re-read your timeline twice. Your optical illusion easily bypassed my timeline reading skills (heavily biased by the habit of reading dates after the event description). Anyway, so much wasted forum space to avoid admitting I misread your post. Enjoy the weekend and best wishes for a speedy grant!
  8. Alison: according to your timeline you have been waiting for less than 8 weeks. The 8 weeks period starts from the date your application is submitted (as per immigration's website), and not from the date the invitation is received. Relax and breathe deeply, there is (at least) one (long, I immagine) week to go before you hit the 8 weeks mark
  9. I'm not sure if you're a troll or the luckiest 189 applicant I've ever met on a forum. I'd go with the former
  10. Nessie: I hope the question is not too personal. Are you from a high risk country? The reason I am asking is the three months you have been waiting, coupled with the fact that you are (I presume) applying onshore. Surprising your grant hasn't arrived yet

  12. Form 80 is indeed mentioned in booklet 6 (http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf), the "bible" to follow for the 189 application process. More often than not the CO will request it, so I guess your idea to have it handy is a good one. But Since you make the effort to gather all the details to fill the form, why not frontloading it as well?
  13. If your health is worth having an ORGASM about, it must be a pretty exciting condition that you have!
  14. Hi charliebear: not sure if anyone currently posting on this thread has the same date of submission, but please keep updating your timeline and posting your progress here as that could be helpful for everyone. Thanks
  15. Congrats. Now enjoy the PR celebration!
  16. Thanks for your reply. Yours is indeed a peculiar case as architects are quite rare to find among 189ers, and your country of origin too makes your case a rare one. Have you done your studies in Australia? And, since you mentioned that, what kind of visa was the one you had to compile a form 80 and 1221 for? 457? 485? As for having done the whole process by yourself, as long as everything you submit is consistent with your claimed points you should be absolutely fine. Shouldn't be too long before you get some hopefully good news
  17. Did you actually submit/frontload the forms (80 and 1221) through the online application system or just filled them out and have them ready "in case they ask"? If you don't mind me asking, did you use an agent? Thanks
  18. I wonder what could be the average number of times people access their application page daily. Every person with a 189 application pending is a good candidate for an OCD diagnosis
  19. But when, like in nomadgreen's case, your grant has already been awarded, does the "do not open" prescription still stand?
  20. Nomadgreen: Did you have to provide a form 80?
  21. It would be useful to know which "wave" (call round) you are in. A timeline would be good to see too, so it can be compared with others in the same round
  22. BeeBoDee;Debbio;feedthegoat44: please keep updating your timelines as you go, as they are "fresh" and a good indicator of current waiting times for those in the same situation. Thanks in advance for that Haseeb: best of luck! Hopefully you'll get some good news soon!
  23. I am going to apply soon. Watching this thread with utmost interest as timelines are great for reference and inspiration
  24. Shreya: yes, it's the 17th and yes, it's been two months since Debbio lodged her application. But it also a SATURDAY in Australia. It is probably a good idea to hold your horses (I know it's hard, and you are anxiously waiting for some, possibly good, news) and wait another couple of days. Enjoy the weekend!
  25. Please take into consideration that the 189 applicants called in each of the two rounds held in June were (numbers-wise) in the 600ish region, whereas they called 1150 applicants PER ROUND in July. I would not expect things to be as speedy as they are at the moment, although, I guess, we all hope so
