  1. That's exciting news LisatoOz. You lodged a week before myself and not front loaded, so hopefully our CO will be allocated soon too
  2. It really seem as if the direct grants are coming through thick and fast as opposed to those waiting to be assigned a co. I asked our migration agent if we should front load for these reasons as they still told us to wait for a co to be assigned It is very frustrating seeing everyone getting direct grants and yet there is no news for those waiting for the co to be assigned. Learning that I am not a very patient person! LOL
  3. We are so tempted to front load our docs, but our migration expert is still advising to hold out and wait until a CO is assigned....to preload or not to preload, that is the question!
  4. Thanks Mark 1234 that makes me feel better. I have already submitted the letter from the cruise company, so hopefully it will be OK when we finally get a CO allocated to us
  5. We are applying for the 189 visa, but only using my husbands skills (points) to get in, I am just listed as spouse. CaptainR, it does seem ridiculous and I know exactly what you are saying about setting foot in the country and which country deals with criminal activities. It was just something that was flagged on the DIAC website and also our immigration agent has warned me that it could be asked for. Did you ever get a response from Australian immigration to the response you sent from the foreign police check? We lodged our vise in June and still waiting for a CO, so I have no idea as to whether they will require more information. I shall respond to this post when I know what else they require from me in relation to the "working on a cruise ship".
  6. Congratulations!! Which visa did you apply for?
  7. Is anyone else in the same boat (pardon the pun). I have spent the last 6/10 years working for a cruise company and according to the DIAC website I will need to get police checks not only from my home country (UK) but also from every authority for the countries that the vessels were registered under, so this will be Bahamas, Barbados, Panama and a few more. Has anyone else been asked by a CO to send these or did a letter of good standing from your company suffice? I have got the letter from the company as suggested by my migration agent, but just wondered if anyone else is in this situation.
  8. We lodged our application on 18th June and are still waiting for the CO to be allocated...the waiting is killing me! We have not front loaded PCC or medicals as I am an ex-cruise ship worker and so there maybe extra PCC's I need to get which may take a long time so waiting to see if just the letter from my company is good enough for a good character reference.
  9. Hi Cissi, We did get a copy of the tax invoice/receipt for the application fee, but there is no TRN number on there. The only thing similar is a FTRN number which only has 8 numbers. Also, how long does it take for the money to be taken out of the account? It was submitted on Wednesday, but on Friday the money has not been touched. Thanks.
  10. Hello All, Our migration Agent advised us that they had submitted our visa application yesterday, so just a whole load of agonising waiting I guess. We are wondering whether to do PCC and medicals now or wait until the CO asks us for them. As we have gone through an agent, we do not get to see the process of our application I am sure I have read somewhere we can ask for the link to be able to view this also?
