  1. I was informed by Email today that my Application for ACT nomination is refused as the job search I have submitted is not the same occupation and I have not submitted a employment statement for each vacancy.

”You did not provide an employment statement for each of the advertised positions you provided and all the employment opportunities researched were for Recruitment Consultant, which is a different occupation under ANZSCO. While you may have the skills to perform the role of a recruitment consultant, you have not demonstrated that there are sufficient employment opportunities in your nominated occupation Human Resource Adviser.”

My occupation HR Adviser and the "Recruitment Consultant" are both in the same Unit Group and same level iIn ANZSCO . WHen I applied, Rec. Con. was not offered in the List. AS the job tasks were similar I felt it is closely related and I would also be eligible for applying for any such in ACT job market. Any way now that my application is refused for this technical glitch, Can any one tell me what I should do. Is there any way of making a review or appeal ?

You may reapply at any time, but do your homework properly this time. Follow strictly their requirements, do not "think" by yourself. They have a line, you have to walk on it, if you step one step out of the line, you're out. Good luck!

  2. Hi, just a small query but possibly important..... I'm just printing off colour copies of all documents in order to get them certified.....my printer doesn't seem to be putting much colour into the copies.....for example we have a change of name deed which is a yellowy colour but this hasn't shown in the colour copy. Do I need to go and find/buy a new printer...or did anyone else have this happen and VETASSESS were fine with it?

Ummm... Are you sure you are the one that has to to the copies? Or the person who's certifying the copies has to do the copies actually? Because the second option seems much more legit to certify a document.

  3. Here is the official link provided by C/O: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/processing-srs.html

Here is the mail: "This application is now decision ready, however at present finalisation is somewhat restricted. Please read below and be assured that I will finalise this application as soon as I am able, but be aware that this will probably not occur until after July 1." So, everything is crystal clear for me. My timeline details are somehow cloudy, because I don't know exactly the date when my C/O was allocated. Applied on 6th of December 2013, got the first mail from C/O on 29th of Jan, medicals done in front, on 17th of December, last documents uploaded on 6th of March. The mail was sent by the C/O. They are from Brisbane, GSM Team 33.

  4. Latest news, for me at least, is that for 190 visas there is a capping, so I'll get the visa most probably next financial year; my file is decision ready (mail got from C/O), meaning that everything is OK, so I have no worries now, as I was planning to go in September anyway. So, I have to get everything ready, and I hope I'll get the visa before 15th of July :)

  5. HI,

Lodged visa on 5/12/13 190 NSW via migration agent , uploaded medicals and PCC on 6/2/14 , CO come back yesterday to migration expert saying their is a delay in 190 processing due to quotas for this year been close , anyone else getting same message from case officer or has any more information pls ?

    Cheers

    Michael

As I can see, there is an official announcement on SkillSelect webpage:

    Announcement

In late 2013, the department conducted an evaluation of occupational ceilings to assess how they have operated to date and to consider changes to ensure they are performing their intended function.

Based on feedback received as part of the evaluation, the following changes will be in place from 1 March 2014:

    • State and territory nominated visas will no longer be subject to occupational ceiling limitations

    • The minimum ceiling for each occupational group will be 1000 invitations.

    http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/

Hopefully it's not gonna be the case to get worried, but I am delayed as well. Waiting for an answer from my agent as well, question to C/O sent already.

    Cheers.

  6. You have to pay in front, and everything will appear after that (I didn't notice how long it will take after you actually apply until the list will appear). They will not even bother to check your account if it's not paid in advance. The fee entitles you for the right to have your visa application checked by a immigration representative.

  7. Granted today!

    in summary,

    Application lodged: 14 dec

    CO assigned: 15 Feb

    Additonal docs sent: 16 Feb

    Visa granted: 21 Feb

    Flight to australia booked! :D

Congrats, my application is still with some papers pending (for the second time!!!), because one of the secondary applicants became 18 years old... more papers to send... :(

May I ask you your country of origin?

  8. hi jaime,

i've applied for nsw. and i'm an offshore applicant. as of now i think 189 is still their top priority. 190 follows second. but i honestly didnt expect to wait 2 months for the CO to make an appearance.

Well, don't forget they had a holiday for 2 weeks during December-January, which, in my opinion, delayed greatly the processing of the files.

  9. HI Bmap,

I got my VISA Granted Today!!!!!! As you said it was a direct grant!! But I have one doubt now,

I also have an ACT sponsorship. yet im planning to migrate to Melbourne. Since Most of the available jobs in ACT

are government related which requires many security clearances.. What sort of an effect will this have? Will there be issues

when I am applying for Resident Return Visa (RRV) in five years time?

In order to be able to keep your PR visa, you have to live and work in ACT for a minimum period of two years. After these two years, you're allowed to move freely wherever you wish. If you don't comply, you may loose your visa. You may not have the chance to even be in Australia to apply for that 5-years RRV application.

    Cheers.

  10. It could be longer... I applied at the beginning of September, when the new ACT Occupational List was released, it might just happened, but I had a long list of email exchange with ACT immigration dept, regarding the whole procedure, and maybe because I sent the right papers in the right way it counted as well.

  11. Well, let's take it step by step then: in order to apply for SS in case of a limited occupation, you will need a verification email approval from them. After you get the approval, you will have to apply for SS. You will receive an answer within 6 weeks, maximum, as they state on their website, under normal circumstances. If your application will be approved, you will receive an email with your approval letter. They will forward to the DIBP the result of their outcome in the same time, which will trigger automatically the invitation to you. This scenario will happen ONLY if you completed your EOI on the DIBP website; if you didn't create yet an EOI, i really don't know how it will be done (first scenario is my personal experience).

  12. There are 4 distinctive tests in IELTS examination, that will help the examinators to determine your ability to understand and to cope with real-life ability to communicate in English (at least they claim to, in my personal opinion it is too standardized and too within the box, if you know what I mean). These tests are: Listening (you will listen to an audio recording, and fill up a form with 40 questions related to the recording), Reading (you will have to read some text pieces, and answer again to a 40 questions questionnaire), Writing (which consists in 2 parts, one would be to write a letter of a minimum of 150 words, and the second part would be to write an essay of 250 words minimum, both on the subjects given at the time), and the final one is Speaking (where you will be interviewed and recorded by an examinator, question-answer mode for most of the time, and you will have to talk for at least 1-2 minutes without interrruption, or until the examinator will interrupt you, on a subject given)

I hope I was clear and detailed enough, my experience with IELTS test was a little bit overwhelming, due to the fact that I hadn't an exam for a long time (maybe more than 15 years before...) :)

    Cheers and best of luck!

  13. Generally speaking, 60 points are enough to apply for a visa, actually it is the minimum required. BUT, due to some high demand of visas on certain skills, DIBP (immigration dept) decided to accept for these skills only from 65 points up (you can check the reports and news over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/, and more relevant, over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-13012014/)

    Cheers

  14. Verification for a limited occupation - it took 2 days until I received their approval; State Sponsorship (190 visa) - a little bit over 6 weeks until approved. Skillselect invitation - automatically received upon SS ACT approval. I hope this will help.

    Cheers.

  15. Joining the gang as well, submitted on 6th of December, status of the documents from required to received on 6th of January... Waiting is killing me... Meds done on 17th of December, though they were not send electronically, but on paper (separate application). As much as I read, on 190 visa you may be forced to activate your visa from the date that you got the sponsorship. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. Just police checks left, arranging for next week to be done.
