  1. I was informed by Email today that my Application for ACT nomination is refused as the job search I have submitted is not the same occupation and I have not submitted a employment statement for each vacancy.

”You did not provide an employment statement for each of the advertised positions you provided and all the employment opportunities researched were for Recruitment Consultant, which is a different occupation under ANZSCO. While you may have the skills to perform the role of a recruitment consultant, you have not demonstrated that there are sufficient employment opportunities in your nominated occupation Human Resource Adviser.”

My occupation HR Adviser and the "Recruitment Consultant" are both in the same Unit Group and same level iIn ANZSCO . WHen I applied, Rec. Con. was not offered in the List. AS the job tasks were similar I felt it is closely related and I would also be eligible for applying for any such in ACT job market. Any way now that my application is refused for this technical glitch, Can any one tell me what I should do. Is there any way of making a review or appeal ?

You may reapply at any time, but do your homework properly this time. Follow strictly their requirements, do not "think" by yourself. They have a line, you have to walk on it, if you step one step out of the line, you're out. Good luck!

  2. Hi, just a small query but possibly important..... I'm just printing off colour copies of all documents in order to get them certified.....my printer doesn't seem to be putting much colour into the copies.....for example we have a change of name deed which is a yellowy colour but this hasn't shown in the colour copy. Do I need to go and find/buy a new printer...or did anyone else have this happen and VETASSESS were fine with it?

Ummm... Are you sure you are the one that has to to the copies? Or the person who's certifying the copies has to do the copies actually? Because the second option seems much more legit to certify a document.

  3. You have to pay in front, and everything will appear after that (I didn't notice how long it will take after you actually apply until the list will appear). They will not even bother to check your account if it's not paid in advance. The fee entitles you for the right to have your visa application checked by a immigration representative.

  4. It could be longer... I applied at the beginning of September, when the new ACT Occupational List was released, it might just happened, but I had a long list of email exchange with ACT immigration dept, regarding the whole procedure, and maybe because I sent the right papers in the right way it counted as well.

  5. Well, let's take it step by step then: in order to apply for SS in case of a limited occupation, you will need a verification email approval from them. After you get the approval, you will have to apply for SS. You will receive an answer within 6 weeks, maximum, as they state on their website, under normal circumstances. If your application will be approved, you will receive an email with your approval letter. They will forward to the DIBP the result of their outcome in the same time, which will trigger automatically the invitation to you. This scenario will happen ONLY if you completed your EOI on the DIBP website; if you didn't create yet an EOI, i really don't know how it will be done (first scenario is my personal experience).

  6. There are 4 distinctive tests in IELTS examination, that will help the examinators to determine your ability to understand and to cope with real-life ability to communicate in English (at least they claim to, in my personal opinion it is too standardized and too within the box, if you know what I mean). These tests are: Listening (you will listen to an audio recording, and fill up a form with 40 questions related to the recording), Reading (you will have to read some text pieces, and answer again to a 40 questions questionnaire), Writing (which consists in 2 parts, one would be to write a letter of a minimum of 150 words, and the second part would be to write an essay of 250 words minimum, both on the subjects given at the time), and the final one is Speaking (where you will be interviewed and recorded by an examinator, question-answer mode for most of the time, and you will have to talk for at least 1-2 minutes without interrruption, or until the examinator will interrupt you, on a subject given)

I hope I was clear and detailed enough, my experience with IELTS test was a little bit overwhelming, due to the fact that I hadn't an exam for a long time (maybe more than 15 years before...) :)

    Cheers and best of luck!

  7. Generally speaking, 60 points are enough to apply for a visa, actually it is the minimum required. BUT, due to some high demand of visas on certain skills, DIBP (immigration dept) decided to accept for these skills only from 65 points up (you can check the reports and news over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/, and more relevant, over here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-13012014/)

    Cheers

  8. Verification for a limited occupation - it took 2 days until I received their approval; State Sponsorship (190 visa) - a little bit over 6 weeks until approved. Skillselect invitation - automatically received upon SS ACT approval. I hope this will help.

    Cheers.
