We went to one in Leeds before we emigrated & it was pretty useless. Advice was generic & not specific enough for our needs. However we did get one of two useful tips but overall felt the forum & our recci where more informative

Just concentrate on having a little time to recover from the stress & jetlag. We got a car, went to centrelink & the bank on the first day. I actually fell asleep on the desk at the bank! We should have perhaps left it until we had recovered. I was overwhelmed & humbled by the generosity of people when we first arrived. We where lent a sat nav by the garage & had many offers of items of furniture & appliances to use before our container arrived. We only had 16wks before we started our jobs as well & I can really sympathise as we where in exactly the same dilemma unfortunately our dog actually failed the rabies vaccine & didn't ever reach the required levels to allow him to travel to oz. In a way the decision was made for us & fortunately his breeder took him & rehomed him. Our vet did stress this was rare but had also advised at the beginning it can take 2 injections but after 3 it probably was never going to work & time was running out. The vet voiced her concerns about leaving a relative to arrange everything as she felt it aas a lot if work & responsiblity for them. I miss my dog so much especially as we live so close to the beach & he'd have loved it but we know we had no choice in leaving him .
