  1. Hi, I am an Aussie but used to live in Peregian Springs or "little Britain" as my pommie friends call it! The springs is a lovely place to live. Great schools, great community and very neat and clean. It is a housing estate though and as such the blocks are small and the houses generally large. There are quite a few parks though and lots of walking paths. Peregian Beach and Coolum Beach are a 5 minute drive away and crossing the freeway is no problem at all. There is a foot bridge that takes you to Coolum and it is an easy walk/cycle. Nippers is generally held on a weekend morning and I believe the best nippers group is run by Noosa surf club at Main Beach. Peregian Springs has a community facebook page that I suggest you join. The members are full of info and are really welcoming. It will give you some insight into the area and the community.
  2. Hi Ceri Congrats! I am an Aussie living on the Sunshine Coast in Peregian Springs. There are always tonnes of hairdresser jobs in the area and tonnes of salons. There is a job site seek.com.au which lists vacancies. This area is also full of fitness freaks and there always seems to be a triathlon on every other weekend so I am sure your partner will find it easy to find work. Lots of PTs advertise on Gumtree and on the relevant Facebook page for each area, eg Coolum, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Noosa, Peregian Beach/Springs. Peregian Springs, where I live, is referred to as Little Britain which is pretty much the same for most of the coast. You will certainly not lack any Brit company! When looking for a rental look at realestate.com.au. You can search by map or by place name. Lots of rentals available so have fun looking. if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. It is always so exciting moving somewhere else and the Sunshine Coast is beautiful. Cheers Heather
  3. It is certainly not a requirement, just a request that can be ignored. In Qld you do not have to allow open houses and I certainly wouldn't bother making the house beautiful, just carry on and they can work around you. They do need to get written permission to hold an open house so perhaps remind them of this of they continue to pressure you to keep the home in show home condition.
  4. This is my father in laws boat.....I don't think it meets all your needs but is has been well cared for and much loved. My in laws bought the boat to cruise around after they retired but sadly, my mother in law became ill prior to retiring and passed away before they went on their big voyage. Take a look.....http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=14562727&Silo=Stock&Vertical=Boat&Ridx=7&eapi=2. Ys this is my first post but I am not generally a hawker, came here looking for information about being an Aussie in GB!
